Stayed here with my partner last week very last minute and paid just over €300 euro for 3 nights. After looking at the reviews I didn't really have high hopes but it was cheap. The rooms are very basic but clean and the staff are really friendly. You leave your key with them before you go out (this is actually...

Really great value. Right across the bridge form the train station. I had the top floor and had complete silence in the room. Friendly staff that are there 24 hours so seems safe there too. Would highly recommend and will stay here again if I come back.

We have been there and we had a double room with 3 big windows looking in a road with stores not so noisy! A nice basic, comfortable and clean room for travelers that they are not going to spend their day in their room. The price was quite good for a hotel in the heart of Amsterdam! The stuff was...

Been here twice now and wasnt let down! Its clean, brilliant location just what you need for a short city stay! Its basic but perfect if you only intend on sleeping in there! The cleaners come in during my stay and was only there for 2 days! Only down fall is the ridiculously steep stairs but had a laugh getting...

Centrally located hotel close to all the local amenities of the city and a short walk from Central Station. En suite room very good and clean. Bear in mind stairs as in a lot of places in Amsterdam are very steep so be aware of this is not your thing.

Stayed there for three nights. It's located in the middle between Dam Square and Centraal station. Surrounded by amazing restaurants, tourist shops and attractions. The rooms are clean and the housekeeping staff are very thorough. The reception staff are very friendly, working 24 hours a day. In fact, I was staying in a double room because everything else was booked,...

Stayed here last year. You wouldn't even know where it is as its very hidden between buildings on the main road. Quiet, friendly staff and right in the centre. My only problem was the stairs so so steep, but I can overcome that! Room was tidy, we had a satellite TV with english channels (don't tend to watch tv when...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
