We had 3 rooms for our family. Rooms are small but clean. Underfloor heating made them comfortable.
Cleaned daily, we had a little inconsistency with towel and toiletry replacements (i.e different size towels, no shower gel on day 3).

The bar was nice and decent value.

The tram is a 5 minute walk away and the main Trainline from the airport an 8 minute walk away (Leylaan). Time into centre is 10 mins on the tram

Overall, good value.

Located a little off the Amsterdam center you will find this midsize midquality hotel. Staff is friendly and competent, the rooms are clean and in ok shape. A few quirks. The beds are so soft and narrow that they are easy to roll off. And why not put them together? Lights for the bathroom are in the bedroom. Lights for the bedroom are in the hallway. Half the TV channels don't work. Wifi is skimpy. Small stuff like that. But the room is quiet and doesn't smell. It's clean and tidy. There is plenty of hotwater in the shower. If you walk to Surinamplein (maybe 600m) you have comfortable tram connections to Amsterdam C, Dam and Leidseplein. And there you have pretty much everything you need for a fun and comfortable stay in Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Skip breakfast at the hotel. €16 is too much. Enjoy one of the city's excellent bakeries instead.

I got stuck at Schipol airport after Storm Poly yesterday and needed to find a hotel for the night. Okay but nothing great and I wouldn’t rush back. Room was small and could have been cleaned better. Aircon would not switch off, and was noisy.

Bed was comfortable. Staff on Reception were efficient. Breakfast was okay.

Our recent experience at Bastion Hotel Zuidwest Amsterdam was nothing short of a nightmare. The lack of cleanliness was appalling, with the corridor carpet covered in crumbs and dirt that have been neglected for over 10 days. The state of the common areas was a far cry from what one would expect from a 3 star hotel, making us feel like we were staying in a rundown hostel.
Our room was equally disappointing, lacking any drawers to store our clothes and forcing us to live out of suitcases. The cramped space made dressing and finding our belongings a constant struggle, leaving us feeling uncomfortable and disorganized.
The bathroom was no better, with no soap dish or designated spot for toiletries. After multiple requests, we received soap but had to balance it precariously. At one point, an unpleasant smell of urine emanated from the shower, raising doubts about the cleanliness of the facilities.
The hotel staff's indifference added to our frustration. We had to repeatedly ask for extra towels and even the most basic housekeeping tasks to be done (such as making the beds!), making us feel like burdensome guests rather than paying customers.
However, the worst part was the exorbitant price they charged for such an abysmal experience. At €150 per night without breakfast, it felt like a rip-off for the lack of comfort and cleanliness provided.

Please think 10 times before you could book this hotel.

Here are some of the reasons not to.

1. Upon checked in when my wife sat on the bed leg broke and she hurt herself.
2. Hotel is terribly dirty from bed, floor, toilet, corridor to lift.
3. No evening meal service in the hotel.
4. Hotel is next to train track and is every noisy, you could hardly sleep.
5. customer service is useless, despite sending email everyday and calling them, I have not got my refunds yet.
I have taken pictures of the state which I have explained and will load here if the system allows me to do so.

Service: terrible. Rooms: very small, bathroom: you can only fit in if you are skinny.
One of the rooms we booked had no light in the bathroom. We informed the staff several times. We stayed 5 days and they never fixed it.
Bed was uncomfortable. Matress had stains. Breakfast was served from 7-9.
They did nor clean the room every day.
Only possitive thing is that a tram station is nearby.

They messed up my booking and cancelled my reservation on the arrival day, we almost had to sleep on the street. I had to do a thousand calls to find a solution and finally they found out that it was their mistake. Their customer service is awful, they did not even tried to support me. Also super expensive for such an ordinary workers hotel far from the city center. Never again.

We were honestly just looking for a decent place to stay, nothing fancy, but this hotel was very disappointing for its price. The shower and floor were not cleaned bevor our arrival or during our stay. When we put dirty towels on the floor we did not get a replacement and had to ask for them downstairs. Overall it did not seem like they did any other cleaning except make our beds. I had put some clothing items of mine over a chair in the morning and was confused when I came back in the evening and they were gone. I searched the whole room but found nothing. Then I remembered we saw garbage bags and dirty bedsheets in the hall when we got back. Thankfully they were still laying there (otherwise pretty disgusting) and I put some gloves on and searched through them. Luckily I found my things but the whole situation was very unpleasant. The breakfast is nothing special and for the price a bit disappointing. Our room was directly next to a pretty loud street.
