Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

I booked this hotel on the last minute when we found the property we rented in really bad conditions. As soon as we got to the hotel we were received by a really nice lady, this hotel is small but nice and clean, the staff was really nice and helpful, our bed was comfortable and they cleaned every day. Also we had canal view and that was a plus.

Just back from a brilliant city break 4 nights in Amsterdam . I booked the hotel in December so well ahead of time . Beautiful hotel ..... yes it’s old and dated the stairs are really narrow and steep but there is a small lift . Our room was lovely overlooking the canal .the bathroom is tiny so if you like room this will not be for you . The shower was so powerful it was fantastic . Hairdryer in room . Plenty of sockets for all the devices you might need to charge but the points are away from the bed . A little sitting area to have coffee /tea in the morning and watch the world go by . It’s central location is ideal very near Rembrandt square about a ten minute walk to dam square and the central train station . You pay for being so well located I thought it was a little bit pricy for the type of establishment but I can’t fault it . Staff were pleasant and efficient . Rooms are cleaned and serviced daily . I would highly recommend the Amsterdam house hotel .

Stayed for three nights in April. Room wasn't ready until 4pm but pleasantly surprised when arrived in apartment. We were around the corner in attic apartment which was huge! Stairs were very steep and narrow but guy who checked us in helped with luggage, also served us a free beer while waiting for room. They also store luggage of room not ready. Apartment had great views of canal. Room dated but clean and spacious. Room was not serviced during our visit, but was fine for three nights. Hotel reception was a bit dull and dingy but rooms fine. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would return. Cooker didn't work in apartment and no toaster. Microwave useful though.

I booked this hotel so we could have a view of the canal and was not disappointed. The staff were lovely and welcoming and our room was fantastic. It wasn’t huge but comfortable, toilet and shower were clean and had a little table and chairs to sit and enjoy the view over a bottle of Amstel! Extra pillows and blankets on the wardrobe, bedside lamps and kettle with tea and coffee (nice coffee too!) the view was just breath taking, exactly what I was after couldn’t have asked for more. The reception shuts from 11pm-7am but you can still go in and out. Would definitely return.

This is what you get when you take a chance, and plonk the little man from Google Earth onto a random street in central Amsterdam, an authentic style Dutch city guest-house. We wanted central, we had central. We wanted a view of the canals, we were given a view, unimpeded, from the 4th floor. Yes, the room was a little cosy, and the bed wasn't huge, but the bathroom worked well, and we whiled away several happy evenings listening to the bustle of the city while playing Scrabble, with a few 'tinnies'. The lift, while a little antiquated, works just fine. Location-wise, we could not believe our luck. Without a doubt, the nicest place we stayed during our trip.
