The hotel is well located, being 15 min walk away from the crazy hussle and bussle of the Central Area, but still has nice bars and restaurants around the corner and lots of interesting places to see and experience within an easy walk, like the flower market and the Rijks Museum. The room we had on the Saturday night turned... More

Second time we have stayed at the Amsterdam house hotel. It's perfect for a weekend break as it's close to all attractions and central Amsterdam. Room was clean and beds very comfortable. Shower floor was a bit yucky but we coped! Breakfast was also a little pricey, had to make our own eggs and bacon. For an expensive breakfast I... More

We stayed at the Amsterdam House for 4 days and were very please. The Hotel is typically European , although our room was a little bigger than expected. We were so pleased to have met Chiren ( Americanized -Sharon) . She did everything for us, including carrying our luggage, fixing breakfast, and answering all of our questions. Most importantly, she... More

This was the worst ever hotel we have stayed in. We booked a room for 3, with our daughter. We were squeezed into an attic room with 3 single beds which can only be described as a single room. There were open power sockets on the walls and the TV did not work and as a result we were shown... More

This small and chic hotel fitted me and my 3 friends perfectly. We had booked the apartment sleeping 4 and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The owner welcomed us and showed us our apartment that wasn't actually in the same building as the hotel. It had our own living room, kitchen and two double beds and a single bed... More

I stay in Amsterdam quite often and I have to say that this is one of the nicer hotels that I have stayed in. We stayed in a front room with a gorgeous view over the Amstel - it was quaint and very comfortable. The service was excellent ! Breakfast was pretty good I would definitely stay here again !

We had a lovely stay in this picturesque hotel, for my recent birthday, don't expect the Ritz, it's the old shabby chic all the way look, which lends it's self to it's conveniently placed setting, just set back from the canal and a 10 - 15 minutes walk from Central Station where the hustle and bustle of the main shopping... We stayed briefly here but it was a great stay. Easy to make a reservation and the location is perfect- on a quiet street across from a canal but easy walking distance to everywhere you want to go. There are four floors with a tiny elevator to get you there. We stayed on the top floor in the family room... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
