Stayed 2 nights with Madame Fastand. It's 2 minutes from a tram stop and the lovely Vondelpark. Also very handy for the Concertgebouw which was the purpose of our visit. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit on the small size but we don't need a tennis court. Decor is modern and sharp and...

Staying at several different hotels at Amsterdam, I think this one was one of the best hotels. The hotel is a no frills place (don't expect a huge lobby) that has everything you need:location (two minutes from Vondelpark in a veru quiet neighborhood), great staff, quiet and relatively big rooms (for Europe). One of the best things about the hotel...

If you are visiting Amsterdam to visit the Rijks Museum or the Van Gogh Museum you could not do better than this hotel. It's in the Museum Quarter, so a little out of the centre of Amsterdam, but still easily accessible by tram or on foot. Our room on the second floor was comfortable and spacious and looked out over...

This is a very nice hotel close to the city center of Amsterdam in a calm and lovely neighbourhood. It is conveniently located and can be easily reached by public transport (tram no. 2 and 5). The staff was extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. I got a room on the second floor that had park view. The room itself was...

Not that central as we expected, but park is nearby, also a supermarket and museums, and no bad smells of central streets so we enjoyed a lot. Room itself was bigger than we expected and cosy, with comfortable beds.

I stayed here for two nights. The staff was very helpful upon arrival. Superior Room was spacious and comfortable. Bed was lovely and big. On the down side, the large walk in shower - water went all over the place as there was no curtain or door. The room got a little stuffy and the bathroom window was above kitchens...

We stayed here for three nights and were satisfied with all services. The hotel itself is B&B, if you are looking for neat rooms, clean bead and fresh towels every day, this hotel will be your choice. The location is great, just 50 meters from entrance to Vondelpark. To Leidseplein with all its restaurants and bars 10 minut by foot....

Stayed for two nights in early march. The staff were very polite and helpful. The room was clean and stylish. Lovely bathroom too if not a little small. Taxi booked by hotel to airport was 5 star and finished the trip with some unexpected class. Good job.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
