This is a good hotel in a great location. Trams nearby made sightseeing very easy- we got a 3 day tram ticket which was approx. 30 euros for a couple. This allowed us to go everywhere we wanted to go. Room was clean and breakfast was just what we needed. Overall, an enjoyable stay and would recommend!

A very nice small hotel on a very quite street a minutes walk from Vondelpark. Van Gogh museum and Rijksmuseum is less than 10 minutes walk away. The hotel was very clean but more importantly very quite. Although my room (002) was small it suited my needs. The bathroom was a nice size. The variety at breakfast was a little... More

Four days at the Parkview in december. Undoubtedly a good choice: excellent location, modern equipment and trimmings, attractive price. As others have noted the shower is small, but if you're careful that's a minor point. Two issues: 1) deficient room lighting. Five ceiling spotlights, but none over the head of the beds. The electronic flip-out bedside lights did not help:... More

The rooms were surprisingly large and modern. The beds were large and comfortable. The location is about 5 minutes from the Van Gogh museum and 10 minutes from the Rijksmuseum. The breakfast was generous. The service was very efficient and friendly. We were very happy that we chose to stay here and will certainly do so again.

While in Amsterdam for biz or tourism is a really good option. It is a proper walking distance to the Centrum with out been inside of the busy area. The city is easy to walk or bike so the location will be a perfect place. The people on the hotel are nice enough. You will be into the museum quartier,... More

Stayed here for 4 nights, wasn't overly enthused about my stay! The wifi doesn't work so don't count on using it, I doubt there even is any, when I questioned this the response was that it should be working fine. The room was lovely but needed some work, stains in carpet and strange drainage smell when in the toilet especially... More

Great place for being near museums, beautiful Vondel Park, public transport, food. The building was turned into a hotel and is of the same style as the neighborhood. No lobby and all is very tight in space. I had a single room and it was tiny.

This hotel is next to the Vondel Park and within a nice affluent area! Plenty places to eat morning noon and night and near the museums and trams are very regular to use this hotel as a base for touring the city. Lovely clean room with enough space for the two of us where we wanted somewhere to sleep and... More

Recently stayed at this hotel for two nights. The hotel is in a quiet location but has easy access to the city centre. The room was very clean and staff were helpful in assisting us with directions and recommendations of places to visit. We didn't eat here so no comment on food. Overall it was a nice hotel to stay... Stayed here for 2 nights last weekend, we were in room 401. Room was large, spotless, modern and overlooked the gorgeous Vondelpark. Bed was very comfy and under floor heating in the bathroom was lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They seem to be having problems with the internet and we hired bikes from the hotel but couldn't pay... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
