We stayed at Parkview for a long weekend. This was a 50th gift from my Son and Daughter. I must say what a lovely clean hotel, the rooms are nicely decorated with a very relaxing feel. The beds a huge and very comfortable. We wasn't in the room much but it catered for all our needs whilst in Amsterdam. The breakfast...

We stayed in Amsterdam as the last stop in a 3 week interail trip around Europe. Having visited twice before, and knowing we would be tired from the trip, we decided to stay just outside the centre and looked for somewhere around Vondelpark. The location couldn't have suited our needs more. The hotel was easily accessible from Centraal station by...

This is a very well placed hotel for all the museums, next to the lovely Vondel Park and minutes walk from lots of great restaurants and bars, including fab live music jazz bars. Try the authentic Indonesian food if you can.

This hotel was booked by a friend, the location didn't suit us, but it was in a nice quiet area overlooking the park. Trams are a short walk although some may prefer to be nearer the central district to avoid the journey (20 mins). Rooms are compact and modern - not spacious but very comfortable. Rooms are nice. The stairs...

Arrived on the Thursday afternoon and just a quick stop to drop bags and get changed etc. Greeted by a very pleasant reception lady with a fairly speedy check in. The room was on the 1st floor up small winding steps and was very nice. Usual tea & coffee and television, large comfy double bed with separate duvets which is...

I used to live in Amsterdam and can tell you the location is perfect. You are a 10 minute walk to the canal rings where the old city begins. Stroll through Vondel Park to the Rijksmuseum and canal rings. You avoid city streets and start the day off right! The hotel is in the best neighborhood in the city, very...

Lovely hotel in quiet position, within easy walking to museums and trams, Easy to get in to centre . Rooms were big enough and had great shower . Rooms were clean and were given fresh towels daily, staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, breakfast room is small so if hotel is full you may have to wait for a table...

The Parkview is a small hotel in a quiet and pleasant area near a large park and with easy access to the major museums. The hotel is clean and the staff very helpful. Breakfast is adequate and the beds comfortable. There is a very good laundromat nearby on Overtoom and a few restaurants nearby the best of which is Classico.

Advantages: Location is really good, many cafes and restaurants, shops, and sights are near hotel. Room was big enough Good view from windows. Disadvantages: Poor breakfast Bad quality of internet. My room was at 3d floor and internet was slow. Soundproofing wasn't good.

A nice hotel in a great spot 1 minute from an entrance to Vondel Park. All the staff were really helpful and kind. It's a little noisy from people walking in and around the hotel, but having stayed in many places in Amsterdam I can say this is normal and so this hotel was my quietest experience. We will definitely...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
