My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in mid September. We chose this hotel mainly based on price and relative convenient connection to city. Most of the hotels closer to centre were either sold out or ridiculously expensive.

The hotel itself was nice. It had a modern restaurant in the lobby open for dinners and breakfasts. It came handy, as there are no other places to eat close by. Two breakfast options were available: continental for 7.50 EUR and full buffet for 15.50 EUR. Both options were good.

The biggest surprise was that the room entrances are from exterior corridors. It could easily be a significant problem on a rainy or very cold day. It also gives a feeling of being in a cheap motel in North America.
The room was spacious and well decorated. Bed was comfortable and TV had some English channels. The service however was poor. We had to ask for another towel as only one was provided for the two of us. There was no soap in the shower and when we reported it to reception next day, nothing happened.

There was an electric kettle in the room, but no coffee or tea. You needed to bring it from the lobby (for a fee?)

The metro (M53) is right at the hotel. It provides direct transportation to Central station for 3:50 EUR on OV/Chipkaart, or about the same when tapping credit card. Two days out of 3 there were some problems on metro lines and delays, so you can't always count on it. There are also couple of busses, but we did not bother investigating their destinations.

Keep also in mind that the hotel, like all others in Amsterdam, charges 3 EUR per person per night city tax, which normally is not included in your reservation and needs to be paid at check in.

Overall hotel provided what was needed, but in future we would rather stay more in the city, if available and within our budget.

The hotel is okay when only sleep in rooms. Cleaning could be a little better. No clean towels, soapsupply empty, leaking showerhead, roller shutter broken so dark in room, 1 light broken. So the rooms need an update. The staff on the other hand were very nice and always someone there to help you, very friendly! They make your stay very pleasant!! Metro around the corner, perfect location to travel into city.

Dear guest, Thank you for your kind words. The cleaning is something we will take up with the housekeeping, as this should be the standard. If there is something wrong with the room you can always go to the reception, as you said there is always someone to help. We hope you had a nice time in Amsterdam and wish to see you again. Kind regards, Team Campanile Amsterdam

Stayed here for 5 nights.
Very friendly staff and great atmosphere in the bar area.
Very good breakfast.
Room is clean and a good size with a fantastic shower.
It's 20 minutes by train to get into Amsterdam central by train.
We had a couple of evenings meals here which again was very nice.
There's a lovely park behind the hotel with an amazing lake you can hire a bike from the hotel if you want to cycle around it.
The hotel I'd on the main road but it's very quiet in the rooms so you wouldn't realise.
Would happily stay here again as it's a great base to explore Amsterdam

I had booked a trip away for my partner as a surprise, when we got to the hotel we were disappointed as we were not told of any renovations taking place. We had to use the outside firestairs one day as they had blocked the usual stairs/lift off. The reception was in an outside cabin where quite often no member of staff was. The cleaners did not clean our room one day and when our room was cleaned, it was not cleaned to satisfaction. When we mentioned this to a member of staff, they refused to accept our opinion and were very rude and made us felt unwelcomed. We paid a decent amount of money for somewhere we wished we had never stayed. It ruined our site seeing trip away in Amsterdam. I only hope it gets better for other people.

Dear Guests What a pitty that you have not read anywhere that the restaurant and bar were closed. We have published this since august 2019 on alle sites and have done a lot of effort to inform the guests where and how we could. It is indeed disappointing that some guest do not know and do not read the information. What worriess us is that staff has not paid enough attention to your needs for that we apologize and will surely discuss this with staff concerned. Our renovation is almost finished and we will have a beautifull new F&B concept and regret that it was not for you. Should you ever visit Amsterdam again we do to see you again. Kind regards Team CAmpanile

Visited Amsterdam for new year for a few days over new year. Didn’t realise when booking that it’s a good way out of the centre (our fault for not checking) but there’s a metro station next door with quick access to the city.
Our disappointment started about 4 days before we were due to arrive (bearing in mind this was just after Christmas) with an email saying due to renovation they won’t have a full menu, when phoning we were told there was a limited menu and there’d be a special dish each day and a larger meal could be provided for us. We were not told that the while restaurant bar area was closed and this and reception was instead a temporary building on reception. Very disappointing especially as the restaurant looks lovely by the photos on the website.
When we did arrived it seemed what we were told on the phone wasn’t accurate as the menu consisted of panini, pizza, soup of the day or fries. The staff were very helpful though and did what they could to provide us with 2 very good meals. We understand hotels sometimes need work but we’d like to have been told in advance giving us a chance to change our booking if need be.
The rooms were fine, typical for a modern hotel. The layout is different, accessing rooms from outside but that wasn’t a problem. It would be nice to have curtains for some privacy rather than metal shutters.
Our last night however, further disappointed us. We came back to the hotel early evening after a day walking round Amsterdam and were tired, but found our key cards didn’t work. Reception sorted it quickly but we then told they hadn’t changed towels from the day before, so a member of staff came with us bringing clean ones but we needed to ask him to replace the used ones despite being clearly used, we expected him to replace them without us asking. Rooms didn’t seem to be cleared this day, with the shower still having dirt in it from the day before. We also suspect that the beds were re-made not changed as one of our beds had a stain on the duvet in the same place 2 nights running.
We had a lovely few days in Amsterdam and will visit the city again, but the hotel sadly didn’t meet our expectations.

Dear Guests, Thank you for being our guest and with that being our eyes and ears which we need to improve our service. Since July 2019 we have annouced the renovation of the restaurant and public areas on the various sites. Though we did check the sites it does not always get a a prominent place what would be better considering the impact. The hotel has done as much as impossible to make sure that guests are informed but since most guest book on the internet and not direct at a hotel it is not possible to send personal information. Yet staff found you a good solution thank you for highlighting that. Regarding the housekeping it is disappointing that our cleaning company has not performed as guests may expect. This review will be evaluated and we apologise for the inconvience. Since you did had a lovely stay we do hope to see you back and have a drink with us in our new bar / lounge which we will reopen in March. Then we can assure you that your expectations will be met. Kind regards and we hope to see you on a next visit. Team Campanile

I came with 4 friends to work in the Netherlands. Firstly we were surprised by the fact we are going to stay in the hotel room for such a long time. Fortunately, the hotel personnel was very supportive and friendly all the time.

The Guys from the reception were very nice and talkative. I was feeling welcomed there every single day. They were able to help us with every single issue we had during this one-month stay with a smile on their faces. To be honest, without them our stay couldn't be so pleasant as it was.

The manager is a very nice lady, who took her time and asked us if we are feeling good in the hotel, if we don't need anything and if everything is alright. Conversations with her were interesting and inspiring for me.

Guys from the kitchen prepared delicious food for us and we were satisfied.

The hotel has a nice bar and lobby where you can sit with friends and refill energy.

With housekeeping service, we were satisfied too. After a long day at work, we had our beds made, floor vacuumed, trash bins empty, and clean towels in the bathroom.

This hotel is located near the metro, so it is very easy to move from there to the city.
What I found very nice is a location near Gaasperpark. I enjoyed running and nature in this park. It is just a few meters from the hotel and that place filled me with peace. If you are going to stay in the hotel, I recommend you to visit this park at least once.

The only thing I can do is to say one big THANK YOU for everything. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to stay in Amsterdam for a while.

Hotel campanile is a fab hotel near Amsterdam city, it’s location is great it’s right at the end of the M53 from central station and it’s so easy to go in and out of the city center. The hotel itself is very nice with very nice staff, the rooms are lovely and very private there is a window with a shutter that can be closed down. The bathrooms are fab and it’s overall a very clean hotel. We had dinner there once and breakfast most days we were there, all the food was fab. For the dinner I had the ravioli and my boyfriend had an Argentinian style steak (which I can’t fully remember the name of) both dinners were fabulous. Because of its location and how much we loved the hotel, if we were to go again we would definitely stay at hotel campanile.

Terrible service, in 3 days with paid breakfast. Cold breakfast and what to tell at reception. They do not change towels, sheets or garbage. The others next door did not let us sleep and did nothing, the day of my departure I left for a moment I arrived at 11:45 and they had entered my room they took my suitcases and I lost makeup! when I had a quarter of an hour. very bad service !!!!

Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion with us. We are going to evaluate your comment to improve our service in the future. Safety of our guests is at the first place and during Covid 19 there are some changes in the hotel regarding service & breakfast. Unfortnatly the warm breakfast buffet is not aplicable. The reception is 24 hour per day open to help our guests with all what is needed. All supllies are availle at the reception. Official there is no service in the room. The official check-out time is before 12:00. We always respect time and roles. The reason why the lugguge has been taken is to be transferd to a safe place. All rooms after check - out must be open immediatly for 2 hours and fresh to be cleaned for the next guest. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by this situation. We hope see you soon again with a better experience. Kind Regars, Team Campanile

Service at check in was terrible! We walked in and was met by a lady behind the desk who looked at us, grabbed her bag and walked off to sit at a nearby table- no greeting, smile or anything. Behind the desk in a back room, two coworkers were moving boxes around in clear view of us, even making eye contact…still no greeting.

After finally coaxing a worker out of the room, we had an excuse of they needed to move the boxes about. As if stacking boxes is more important than checking people in. She ordered the woman sat on the table still on her phone to check us in, who then explained she walked off as her shift is over.

I do have to give credit to one of the other receptionists we later met who was beyond polite and friendly.

Moving on to breakfast, as someone with a food intolerance I make sure to make this clear at the time of booking - making sure to inform reception on arrival and a member of staff at breakfast/at the restaurant. At breakfast, I informed the member of staff of this and if they had gluten free options available to which they said yes. As nothing else was said, I assumed (as I’ve found when going elsewhere) my gluten free food may be in its own section on the restaurant floor. Imagine my happiness when I see signs saying 100% gluten free over the bread and croissants - clearly this means they’re gluten free (see pics attached)! Wrong!!

The hotel is unable/ don’t care to take food allergies seriously. If you also have a food allergy BEWARE.
