This place is near the leidsplein and beside the vondelpark,so the location is great! The security and safety was good, the staff and the receptionists were very friendly and helpful. The beds and rooms were ok and comfortable and their cleanness really depends on the roommates!! The public toilets were not very clean !The breakfast was very simple and lower than... More

This hostel was rather good! The room was quite big and almost always clean, we had a logger so we could put our staffs in, the staff was nice & food too. However, the room was a bit hot and people not always carefull with others, some of them do lots of noise sometimes.

It's a very big hostel, good places to meet people from around the world, I suppose. Staffs are very nice, efficient and helpful. Breakfast are standard but dinner were absolutely delicious, halal dan very tasty. But they close dinner at 7.30 where mostly we're still outside venturing Amsterdam. Rooms are not very clean, we have to put our own sheet,... More

I took the train to Amsterdam from Paris to fly back to the U.S. the next morning. The hotel was very convenient from Central Station on their light rail system, and then only a 25 minute bus ride to airport next morning. I arrived about 10 a.m., and they let me store my luggage in their downstairs lockers until later... More

I was not used to these hostels , but I have to say this is very good value and especially in Amsterdam where the hotels can be very expensive. We were a group of 6 people and spent 3 nights there in a 6 beds room for about 30€ per night and per person. This is very simple and there's... More

The Stayokay hostel is a big hostel nearby at the Vondelpark. Vondelpark is one of the parks in Amsterdam city, it's frequented by families, runners and elderly people. The hostel has about five hundread bed accomodations, those are distributed in two buildings, linked by a glass tunnel. The temperature in the tunnel is colder than the building and the temperature... More

Nice vibe, neat rooms, clean toilets and a bar just to the side. Will def stay there again! Not sure if they offered towels though, we didnt ask, but something just to bear in mind! Ideal location too, a few mins away from Hardrock cafe and the Bulldog.

It was extremely expensive (40 Euro) and cleanliness was very limited in the rooms. The idea of having a wash basin in the room is pretty annoying as people sleeping the room are disturbed when others are using it. I was also tricked into getting the hostel card. I don't think I will be using it anytime in the future.... More

Very clean, only problem elevator was out in building A where kitchen/breakfast was served,; had 4 flights to walk up, when asked desk people about the elevator all they would do was smirk, so I had the feeling it was an on-going problem, no ADA concerns there. Bathrooms are in rooms, comfortable otherwise. In one of the most exclusive areas... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
