I am travelling with my family through Europe from Amsterdam to Brussels,Brugge, Paris,Disney Paris and London. I have tried family hotel chains, Air bnb and Cityden in Amsterdam on 2 occasions. Cityden offers what Air bnb has in type of units in unique settings and one off type of apartments. Where Cityden excels is that there is a management group... More

we spent few days in what the claim as an apartment...2 extremely small rooms with a bathroom. It is right on the street and it is hard to sleep without hear plugs. Despite the fact that we were perfectly on time we had to wait to receive the keys. No room to leave the luggage after check out.

The Luxury apartment is laughably small, with barely enough room for the furniture, let alone any guests. The "bathroom" is nothing more than a shower and a toilet in the bedroom (literally a couple of feet from the bed) and a sliding door to cover one or other. Water runs out onto the floor and under the bed if you... More

This hotel is two blocks from Museumplein, great great location. Also two blocks from the bus station that take us do the airport, very easy acess! It's a small building as most of the places around Europe. But is cozy and people are very friendly. I recomend it.

A very recommended choice in the city. Charming design that reminds typical style with a modern touch in this little but very comfy hotel. The room (super cute) was big enough and well cleaned. Friendly but professional receptioning. It's also located perfectly, in front of rijskmuseum, ten minutes walk to Damm plaza. Bonus for the nespresso machine in the room.... More

Just arrived home from our trip in Amsterdam today and couldn't recommend this hotel enough. This great little find was perfect for our 3 days and was completely worth the money we paid. We had a small double room and it was enough space required for what we brought. Our room (and in fact the whole hotel) was immaculate and... More

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Although in a lovely quiet area of the City you are only five minutes from the major museums, concert hall and shops. There were also plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The staff were all helpful and gave us lots of advice on places to visit and how to get there. The room... More

Stayed for two nights in early October. Great location close to the museums, trams and buses. Makes the city very accessible. The rooms are a little smaller than you might expect, so I would recommend booking a deluxe room. The staff were friendly, approachable and informative.

I stayed at the NL Hotel in a deluxe double room for two nights and highly recommend this hotel. The room was spotlessly clean, with a clean comfortable bed and a decent shower. Small touches such as a Nespresso machine in the room, strong wifi signal, and lovely wallpaper really added to the charm and comfort of the room. The... More

We visited Amsterdam last June and stayed at this small hotel near the museums. Although I knew that the rooms were quite small, not imagined details like that can not fit to open your suitcase or that the bathroom door is not closed. The single room that you do not double. Although overpriced hotel, located in a quiet area with... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
