However, although our room was a bit dated & had some scuffs here & there we found it to be very good. It's was clean, unlimited free coffee/tea. Breakfast not included but the price reflects this & it is in a great location close walking distance to everything you will need.
Only genuine complaint would be the walk in shower leaks water across the bathroom floor. I put a towel on the floor to block it spreading.
Check out 11am while most places are 10am.
We would definitely stay again 👌
Bedroom was spacious with a nice view of the canal. Under the TV there was a handprint that almost looked like it could have been blood (more likely paint though). The bathroom was on the small side but normal for Europe I think. The sink faucet was very loose and the sink had a very slow drain, and no hand soap. The best part about the room was the shower - good pressure and nice hot water. The internet was very shotty and seemed to work best in one specific area of the room only.
Again the lady we met the first night was very friendly and it was her first night. Everyone after that was rude and quite sharp, the did as little as possible to help.
People at the desk were nice and helpful. Very basic hotel, but clean and felt safe there. The outside noise on the street at night is very loud as there is a restaurant with outdoor seating right next door, so if you are sensitive about that sort of thing then I wouldn’t necessarily recommend.
The location is excellent, truly the best part of this hotel. Literally everything is within walking distance!! Loved this part and so glad we chose this hotel for the location.
Pros and cons to this hotel, but overall nothing serious to complain about, especially for the price we paid. Would stay here again for a short stay.
The workers in the hotel were very nice. It wasn't noisy at all. The location was perfect, we walked everywhere.
The only thing is that the elevator didn't work, but it didn't bother us. Also the wifi didn't always worked well in our room.
We were 5 peoople (in a double and a three people bedroom) and had to pay 127 Euros each for 4 nights, which is just way overpriced for the conditions I found the hotel in.
The window in the room could not be opened properly, the ceiling was dirty and broken, I thought it would come down any moment. There is only one toilet and shower per floor, the shower is not working properly and genereally they are just in a state of disgusting filth. Having only one (unisex) shower and toilet is illegal under German laws, but I do not know about the Dutch law regarding those things.
The breakfast was ok, some cheap cheese, salami and chocolate spread, it normally lasts until 10.30 (as we were told and as it says in the "house rules") but on our last morning, we were not given any breakfast and told it had finished at 10.
Upon our arrival we were also told that some builders were working in the hotel, but that we should not be disturbed, we were a bit confused that we were not told so earlier and became very angry when we were awoken one morning at 10 by very loud hammer and drilling sounds.
Two other weird and unpleasant things occured, the cleaner lady actually put stuff belonging to my friend, deep in his bag, consequently going through his stuff, another time we were awakened by some member of staff opening the door of our room (with his card) and quickly shutting it again.
Overall the Hotel Armada is filthy (but with nice staff) and totally overpriced! Do not go there, I cannot understand all other reviewers who are giving 5 stars!!! You have been warned....
