Recently back from a 3 night stay upgraded room too upstairs 1st floor room 105 staff lovely and friendly great location 2 min to rembrandt tram literally outside. It is a old building but windows constantly wet due to condensation small room but so are most in amsterdam and for what you pay for is no issue room was warm despite this. Beds really comfortable shower warm and decent yes it does leak past screen but no issue roll a towel in gap stops everything getting wet. We would go back for sure and use the hotel again. Literally the only downside we found the Armada too be overall clean and cleaner came twice too change towels bins etc the place especially bedroom could just do with a lick of paint. Has for noise its amsterdam thes a wee bar next door and a lovely bakery oppisite bouerenjongens 2 min away has well has many other shops and bars in a stones throw. There is basement rooms which i have not been in so cannot comment but dont let negative comments put you off ask for a canal facing room for price its spot on

We stayed 1 night at the Armada OZO. After reading several not so good reviews I was reluctant to stay & we almost booked elsewhere.
However, although our room was a bit dated & had some scuffs here & there we found it to be very good. It's was clean, unlimited free coffee/tea. Breakfast not included but the price reflects this & it is in a great location close walking distance to everything you will need.
Only genuine complaint would be the walk in shower leaks water across the bathroom floor. I put a towel on the floor to block it spreading.
Check out 11am while most places are 10am.
We would definitely stay again 👌

We arrived early, about noon. Our room was not ready but they were able to store our luggage. When we got to the room we could not get the lights on. When we finally inquired, we were told about the little slot by the door to stick the key to activate the lights - it would have been nice to have been told this upon check in.
Bedroom was spacious with a nice view of the canal. Under the TV there was a handprint that almost looked like it could have been blood (more likely paint though). The bathroom was on the small side but normal for Europe I think. The sink faucet was very loose and the sink had a very slow drain, and no hand soap. The best part about the room was the shower - good pressure and nice hot water. The internet was very shotty and seemed to work best in one specific area of the room only.

While the hotel is fairly close and easily linked to the main attractions. The hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired. We met one receptionist who was actually friendly, and it was only her first day working there! But the room was filthy, there was dust everywhere. It's obvious they only clean where it's visible to the naked eye, the bathroom had dust and exposed block and plasterwork. The rooms were quite cold so we asked for extra blankets on the second night only to be told: "The maid is gone and she knows where they are?!"
Again the lady we met the first night was very friendly and it was her first night. Everyone after that was rude and quite sharp, the did as little as possible to help.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. Very basic room, which we then had to move from because the bathroom light wasn’t working. We were then moved to the very top floor, which had a lovely view and a nice bathroom. However, there weren’t even bedside tables next to the beds or table lamps or anything. Bed was actually really comfortable though. Bathroom was lovely, lots of room however the shower was a slight poor design as the floor got soaked whenever you had a shower. Safe in our room was broken, which isn’t ideal when you’re on holiday and have valuables.

People at the desk were nice and helpful. Very basic hotel, but clean and felt safe there. The outside noise on the street at night is very loud as there is a restaurant with outdoor seating right next door, so if you are sensitive about that sort of thing then I wouldn’t necessarily recommend.

The location is excellent, truly the best part of this hotel. Literally everything is within walking distance!! Loved this part and so glad we chose this hotel for the location.

Pros and cons to this hotel, but overall nothing serious to complain about, especially for the price we paid. Would stay here again for a short stay.

We stayed at the hotel for a week. The hotel was absolutely perfect for us. We landed at the middle of the night, and the check in was very comfortable. The room was nice and clean. Every day we got new clean towels, and there was always toilet paper and soap.
The workers in the hotel were very nice. It wasn't noisy at all. The location was perfect, we walked everywhere.

The only thing is that the elevator didn't work, but it didn't bother us. Also the wifi didn't always worked well in our room.

Don’t be fooled by the reception when you arrive at the hotel. That is the nicest thing about it. The Polish lady that welcomed us was lovely and helpful too. That’s where the positive ends sadly. The place is dirty, we found someone’s old top screwed up in the room. The water spills all over the place from the shower. It is dreary and things are just falling apart. On our second night we were woken by someone opening and closing our bedroom door which we had locked. Would def advise against staying here sadly.

We stayed in the Hotel Armada 5 days.
We were 5 peoople (in a double and a three people bedroom) and had to pay 127 Euros each for 4 nights, which is just way overpriced for the conditions I found the hotel in.
The window in the room could not be opened properly, the ceiling was dirty and broken, I thought it would come down any moment. There is only one toilet and shower per floor, the shower is not working properly and genereally they are just in a state of disgusting filth. Having only one (unisex) shower and toilet is illegal under German laws, but I do not know about the Dutch law regarding those things.
The breakfast was ok, some cheap cheese, salami and chocolate spread, it normally lasts until 10.30 (as we were told and as it says in the "house rules") but on our last morning, we were not given any breakfast and told it had finished at 10.
Upon our arrival we were also told that some builders were working in the hotel, but that we should not be disturbed, we were a bit confused that we were not told so earlier and became very angry when we were awoken one morning at 10 by very loud hammer and drilling sounds.
Two other weird and unpleasant things occured, the cleaner lady actually put stuff belonging to my friend, deep in his bag, consequently going through his stuff, another time we were awakened by some member of staff opening the door of our room (with his card) and quickly shutting it again.
Overall the Hotel Armada is filthy (but with nice staff) and totally overpriced! Do not go there, I cannot understand all other reviewers who are giving 5 stars!!! You have been warned....

We stayed 4 nignts May 12 - 15 2003 and found the Armada to be a very good value. situated on a canal, and only steps from the tram to central station. practically door to door service ! Our 1st fl room faced the canal, had extremely high ceilings, and was modestly furnished and comfortable. The tile bathroom with tub and shower was quite large. The breakfest included was very basic continental. overall our room and bath were very clean. If fact, we were impressed how each day when returning from breakfest, our room was already made up with fresh towels and linens. Pleasent staff, dated decor but clean and basic surroundings.John and Bill
