Maes is an excellent choice for travelers interested in an authentic "Dutch" vacation. The proprietors (Ken and Vlad) have really invested a great deal of themselves into the B&B with outstanding results. Guests are warmly welcomed and given personalized attention to assure that their vacation/holiday meets their individualized needs and desires. Geographically Maes is located in/near the Jordaan area and...

My husband and I stayed at Maes on our honeymoon and absolutely loved the room. Ken and Vlad really care about the house and have put a lot of thought and work into making it feel like home. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets and down comfortors mixed with the rich colors of the room were sumptuous! The...

Stayed in their loft apartment, wonderful! Amsterdam was the perfect getaway just before Christmas, we enjoyed it so much we got engaged :), Ken and Vlad are great hosts and made every effort to help us out and point us in the direction of good food and wine. Would definately recommend to anyone, we'll be going back for sure!

Three of us stayed there for our friend Jeanies 50th. there was flowers and a bottle of wine on arrival, a wonderful touch. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. We stayed in the attic, it was quiet, very clean and a wonderful vantage point for overhearing conversations in the street, albeit mostly dutch!! although we three needed copious amounts of oxygen...

My wife and I stayed at Maes in September 2004, we have been to Amsterdam on numerous occasions and paid some hefty rates for hotels. This B&B is well priced for what you get. The B&B was nice and clean and breakfast is a continental style although the Kitchen is open 24/7 so you help yourself to tea, coffee or...

Mae's B&B is a wonderful place to return to when one is travelling. Vlad has made me and my family feel very homely and welcomed. We had the suite on the top floor of 20 Herenstraat. It is very clean, spacious and a lovely room. The breakfast is gorgeous. The hosts, both Vlad and Alex, are wonderful. There is a...

My daughter and I stayed at Maes just before Thanksgiving and found it perfect for our needs, even the ladder to the bathroom! We regularly stay at B&B's just because they are an opportunity for a more "homelike" environment. Guests talk to each other around the breakfast table, share tips on things to see and places to go, and both...

What a great location! Vlad is very personable and interesting. Interacting with the other guests at breakfast was pleasant. Breakfast from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM was perfect, and the food included an assortment of breads, jams, cereal, cheese and ham--typical continental breakfast items. The guest kitchen was open at all times in case we needed a little snack. The...
