Stayed in their loft apartment, wonderful! Amsterdam was the perfect getaway just before Christmas, we enjoyed it so much we got engaged :), Ken and Vlad are great hosts and made every effort to help us out and point us in the direction of good food and wine. Would definately recommend to anyone, we'll be going back for sure!

Three of us stayed there for our friend Jeanies 50th. there was flowers and a bottle of wine on arrival, a wonderful touch. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. We stayed in the attic, it was quiet, very clean and a wonderful vantage point for overhearing conversations in the street, albeit mostly dutch!! although we three needed copious amounts of oxygen... My wife and I stayed at Maes in September 2004, we have been to Amsterdam on numerous occasions and paid some hefty rates for hotels. This B&B is well priced for what you get. The B&B was nice and clean and breakfast is a continental style although the Kitchen is open 24/7 so you help yourself to tea, coffee or... More

Mae's B&B is a wonderful place to return to when one is travelling. Vlad has made me and my family feel very homely and welcomed. We had the suite on the top floor of 20 Herenstraat. It is very clean, spacious and a lovely room. The breakfast is gorgeous. The hosts, both Vlad and Alex, are wonderful. There is a... More

My daughter and I stayed at Maes just before Thanksgiving and found it perfect for our needs, even the ladder to the bathroom! We regularly stay at B&B's just because they are an opportunity for a more "homelike" environment. Guests talk to each other around the breakfast table, share tips on things to see and places to go, and both... More

Some rooms are noisy. The breakfast is cold and served late. Very average B&B.

What a great location! Vlad is very personable and interesting. Interacting with the other guests at breakfast was pleasant. Breakfast from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM was perfect, and the food included an assortment of breads, jams, cereal, cheese and ham--typical continental breakfast items. The guest kitchen was open at all times in case we needed a little snack. The... More

We have just returned from a long weekend in Amsterdam and had the pleaure of staying in the annex to the Maes B&B. Very central, very quiet, excellent bathroom and a charming welcome from Ken and Vlad. The breakfast was sumptous and the tips about where to eat, drink and visit most helpful. Highly reccomended and we look forward to... More

My boyfriend and I stayed in Maes in November and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a B&B in Amsterdam. Vlad and Ken have a special way of making visitors a part of their home. The home is very warm and inviting and we were made to feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. My boyfriend ended... More
