Ok, so I stayed here twice in both July 2013 and December 2014 and, considering we were three guys in a place with one proper bed, it was fantastic. House manager (Mo) was helpful and friendly, and the room was spotless. It's on the third floor, up some standard Amsterdam twisty stairs, and there's no lift, so probably not great... More

Just arrived back from an excellent stay at this wonderful apartment. We were made very welcome on arrival by the charming Mo,& the location overlooking a wide canal in the city centre is excellent. The apartment really is the best I've ever stayed in.It has everything you need for a very comfortable stay & the decor is amazing....There was plenty of room... Amsterdam Escape ran an ad in Private Eye some 20 years ago. Apparently, I was the only person to respond but it was pretty targeted marketing as I must have rented apartments from them about eight times. Years ago, Dee, Emmett and Brendon ran the show but not sure who is around these days. I have not stayed in one... More

We had a fantastic time in Amsterdam, and the Hollywood apartment we stayed in was a big part of our enjoyment. Everything went as we had hoped and the apartment was - modern, clean, warm, well equipped, everything worked, and we could smoke in the apartment - plus, the location was fantastic in terms of being in a central location... I have stayed in the Coke apartment and the Hollywood on a few different occasions now (Always booked through Amsterdam Stay) and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Amsterdam! Both apartments are quirky, clean and all round an enjoyable place to spend your holiday. These places are defiantly not your conventional hotel/hostel and thats the reason why i... More

We just stayed in AmsterdamHollywood for 4 nights and we had a ball. We loved the great amazing central location overlooking the canal and so close to Dam Square, Nieuwmarkt and Rembrandtplein. We hired 2 bikes (highly recommend) so getting about was so easy. We parked the bikes outside the building which was great. The apartment was great, a real... More

Booked via Amsterdam Escape/Stay. Having previously enjoyed our stay in the Amsterdam Coke Apt we decided to book a second stay. Much to our dismay, the company had double booked so we were offered another apartment 'Fancy Loft' just a short walk from the Coke Apt. The Fancy Loft exceeded all of our expectations. Very clean, even better location! Mo... More

We stayed in the Coke Apartment over Christmas and we had an amazing short break. As a veteran of trips to Amsterdam (my favourite city) it turns out that the Coke Apartment is the best Accomodation we have found during the whole 8 times I have visited. The apartment is a bit...quirky...but that's exactly why I loved it so much!... More

My husband and I stayed in the Hollywood apartment from 6 days/5 nights and it was perfect for what we needed it for. Everything was clean and tidy (though some of the light bulbs could do with changing lol) and all the appliances worked, though never checked the PS3 as we didn't have time to try it. Mo is a... Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
