This hotel is literally right next to the Rijksmuseum which has easy access to shuttle bus to and from airport (no. 197 30 mins - 5 euros per person and very frequent). Nice area infront of canal which has a stop right outside for the hop on/ hop off canal tour. Short walk away from hard rock cafe, Bulldog and...

tldr : just find another place which is worth your money, this one isn't! At all!!! Honestly I wasn't expecting a 5 star experience but what we had wasn't even 1. When we arrived we found out our room was actually underground (floor -1 to be clear). Unhealthy, smelling and very dark. We've asked for a baby bed (folding one),...

i stayed at this hotel for 3nights. room was ok but smaller with double bed. i think it depends..... how much you pay, thats it. in my case, include weekend stay, so i felt kind of overpaying. and at night, noisy trafic, neighbors. i like this area but you wanna get one,two block closer to vondel park so it will...

The hotel offers very small confortable rooms and bathroom. The location is excellent, less than 200 meters from the Rijksmuseum and 500 meters from the Van Gogh museum. To get the cost benefit you have to book in advance and include breakfast. Breakfast is very good and complete. It is definitively worth the price. The hotel rate goes up with...

Cheap hotel close to the big museums but longer to the older parts of Amsterdam. Breakfast is included and it was perfectly fine. Rooms are small but there was nothing to complain about, except possibly the lack of sound-proofing. If you room is heading the main street, bring a pair of ear-plugs.

This hotel has a great location is cheap and the staff are very friendly and helpful. However the rooms are beyond tiny! And the bathroom...! I had to sit sideways on the toilet as the door wouldn't close if I sat front on, the shower held so much promise, nice marble walls, huge shower head, however in reality there was...

I couldn't believe how small the rooms are in this hotel my garden shed is bigger than the rooms offered in this hotel these rooms would be acceptable if you were paying £20 a night but not with the price of 140 euros per night. the bathroom was so small you had to back in and stunk of damp due...

Fantastic location but hotel is really poor standard! Bed is awful, pillows are awful, was upgraded to 5th floor luxury room, dread to think what standard is!! Adjoining doors, allowing extra noise from neighbours! Breakfast is sub standard, you won't starve but it's poor!! As I write this from my room and ant walked over my laptop!! Have to say...

The good points - lovely range of breakfast buffet, frequently topped up. Friendly and helpful staff. We liked the location too - the hotel is on a quiet street yet is only a very short walk from bars and restaurants, and of course the main museums. The less good points - the first room we were given was tiny. I...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
