This is an old building wonderfully and very skillfully recycled into a luxury hotel. The rooms, even the basic ones, are spacious, very modern, large bathrooms. One needs to learn how to turn the lights on and off - not evident! The fitness center has what's needed and the pool is long enough to do some swimming. The pool area has...

This is a wonderful hotel. The rooms are big and luxurious. The hotel itself is grand and while the layout is a bit quirky you feel that you are staying in a truly wonderful building. The location near the museums is wonderful and feels a bit removed from the frenzy. It was a truly memorable stay.

This hotel is really something different and worth a visit. The design concept of the hotel is very modern. However, it's full of warm and human touch. That's what I like about this hotel. They lobby is cool, The restaurants are chic and served great foods and drinks. The guest room is quite spacious and modern. However, it's quite far...

I visited towards the end of November for a business event, and the omens were good when the taxi driver (I love the Tesla taxis in Amsterdam!) said this was a great place to stay, albeit very expensive - thankfully someone else was paying! The welcome was warm and the staff efficient, and I was soon being shown my room...

We looked at all of the nicest and highest reviewed hotels in Amsterdam for our trip, and finally booked the Conservatorium for our stay. It was the absolute best! It is a truly unique hotel with first class service in all areas and is conveniently located right next to the Van Gogh, Rijks and I Amsterdam sign. Stay here!!!!

Amazing service, amazing facilities, amazing rooms, amazing views, amazing location, amazing food, amazing people. What else can you ask for. Hotels that strive to be classified in the 5 -star category should look for the Conservatorium as the standard.

We stayed for a long weekend in November. The weather was appalling but we had the best time imaginable! The staff were exceptional! Mike the concierge was so helpful, but it's almost unfair to single out one member of staff when everyone was so lovely! Our suite was stunning with every possible detail thought of. We found the feather pillows...

Beautiful inside and out. I've rarely been to a finer hotel... all top level luxury and effortless service from start to finish. Room was a joy, staff were impeccable, just a wonderful experience. We were given an upgrade on arrival and we were blown away by the stunning design and thought that had gone into the accommodation. Just stunning

A nice and cosy hotel well located near Vondel park and still very close to the centre of Amsterdam. The staff is very professional and at the same time very personal and loose. If you want a 5 star stay in Amsterdam this is the hotel. I recommend a junior suite on 8th floor.

I had the opportunity to get a tour of the Conservatorium Hotel from the concierge services at the hotel. I thought that hotel rooms, public areas were beautiful and the location is perfect when visiting Amsterdam. If your looking to stay in a 5 star hotel this is one you need to put on your list.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
