Stayed here for my stag trip with 9 other friends. We had 2 rooms that slept 4 and 2 twin rooms, all were clean with en-suite and a safe for valuables. Great location, great staff and rooms perfect for what we needed. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and will definitely stay again when we're back in town.

11 of us went for a hen weekend Sept 2014 and stayed in one large room with a bathroom. It was very clean, staff were lovely and breakfast was nice. First night we stayed there till about 4.30am drinking with the bar staff, they were fab! It's right in the centre of everything. When you get off the plane just...

Couple in early 20s, stayed for 2 nights, staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Arrived too early to check in but we were allowed to securely store our luggage and chill out in the lounge bar for a drink, smoke, and bite to eat whilst we waited. Despite the bar remaining open til 4am, the room was surprisingly quiet...

Hi there I have stayed at the bulldog apartments many times over the 10 years I have visited Amsterdam, the bulldog staff are brilliant friendly and very helpful. The apartments I must have stayed in them all now, clean, good views and very well maintained, even took my son for his 18th birthday and the staff made him very welcome,...

I've stayed in the bulldog apartments many times over the past 13 years since I fell for Holland. The staff are helpful and welcoming and the price is very reasonable for such a central location. Breakfast is even included when you rent an apartment! I'll be planning my next trip asap.

I went to the historical Bulldog coffee shop first and was told that the hostel is in a different location and the security guy helped point it out on the map. There are a few Bulldog locations and it was confusing getting to the right one. Once I did, it was a very easy check in and they offered me...

This hostel is OK for a couple of nights, centrally located, good bar/lounge and a good atmosphere. Rooms are quite large and spacious, however the toilet/shower in each room was tiny!. I would stay here again if I was only in the city for a couple of nights, but for a longer trip I would suggest looking elsewhere.

I was there for 6nights and was juggled around a bit because we booked late, by late I mean we walked of the street and asked for a room. The staff were amazing at trying to get my friend and I into a all girls dorm, even thou they were booked out they squeezed us in when there was a...

I stayed at The Bulldog in a 8 girls dorm for 4 nights and a 12 people mixed dorm for 1 night at the beginning of my Eurotrip. These were by far the best beds I had throughout my whole trip. The place was very clean however the bathrooms do need an upgrade... They're not dirty at all, but look...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
