Stayed here in 2015. The location was very central to Amsterdam's core and the walk each day from the hotel was leisurely. This was my fifth visit and I knew my way around comfortably but even for newbies you aren't far from the action. Staff at the hotel are friendly. The hotel itself ain't bad on a budget. Was a... This place is nice for Europe but when I went there the staff made me uncomfortable. The maid used the hotel key to sneak into my room late at night but he ended up regretting it. The front desk back then was not supportive. I don't know if the owners have changed but it was a very traumatic experience. It's... More

Nice hotel, in a nice location almost hidden from amsterdam busy area but very close to all amenities,,, I paid 75 a night which was good, I would spend over 85 a night for this level of hotel, but it is nice quiet, big television,, The bathrooms, beds and bed clothing needs renovation, these are very dated The staff are... The Falcon Plaza is no more .... It's gone, being knocked down. Shame really, it needed to be refurbished, buts that's a little drastic 😕 It's nothing but ... When going to be a pile of rubbish. It's no longer here, don't know what the new hotel will be called.

Stayed at Falcon Plaza from 27th - 30th October 2015. First time myself and my fiancé had been to Amsterdam. We booked our holiday through travelsupermarket.com on a last minute whim. We didn't really do a lot of reviews of hotels, but wanted to make sure we were close to the city centre and close to tourist activity. The hotel... More

This is a great hotel it was really unexpected our room was so clean and tidy and spacious we ordered a triple room but they gave us a room with four beds so I suppose that was good the bathroom was a good size with plenty of towels and the mini shampoos and soaps and the massive tv on the... Hotels in the centre of major European tourist cities, in peak season are expensive and obviously the quality of what a visitor receives is related to the cost. The Falcon Plaza was relatively cheap but not phenomenally so. We paid around €140 per night for a double room with breakfast (booking direct with the hotel gave the free breakfast compared... More

This is a 1-2 star hotel at best, we paid £90 online a night to stay here and it is the pits. We was in the hotel for an Hour and just left and moved into a new hotel as it was so run down. It is a good 15 minute walk into the central area and it's in a... More

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighborhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
