No car parking - they tell you its available but have to walk 15 minutes to Q park. They tell you its€36 but it's in fact €40. Was given basement room. Got 1st floor. I don't think it was any better. Noise from staying guests. Elevator and tram extremely loud. Rooms are very dated at first glance look ok and...

Our room was only ready at 2.10 pm. The room was in the basement, clean and quiet facing the back yeard. Neighbor could peek in to my bed. Curtains could not prevent that. Madrasses are bathtub shaped, pillows too big. High risk of anybody from street getting the key to your room. If you leave your luggage, it will be...

Hotel de Paris in my experience was very clean and homely, staff are very friendly and welcoming. Beds and pillows were very comfy and soft. Modern bathroom was also very nice. One small issue was that the room would sometimes get cold due to the draft that would come brought the CLOSED window, however this wasn't such a big problem...

Lastminute deal booked via booking.com hotel was alot better then expected. Room was nice and had everything we needed a little out of the centre but plenty to see and do around. Breakfast was basic but a good selection and choice staff was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely return

The hotel was pretty 3 star. We didn't have a safe in our room. The good thing about the hotel location is that it's near to all the famous clubs and music places in Amsterdam milkweg. Breakfast was pretty standard so the second day we skipped and went to a nearby bar/cafe

Perhaps the location is not ideal but it is near the Van Gogh museum, one of the must -see attractions in Amsterdam. The rooms are small, just like almost all the hotels in the city, however it gives the hotel a ship-like vibe. Staff is friendly, and breakfasts are ok.

Nice hotel with a good location. Walking distance from the city centre and close to public transportation. Small but clean and comfortable rooms. Lots of restaurants in all price ranges in the neighbourhood.

Lovely hotel, brilliant location We stayed for 3 nights. Nice breakfasts which kids really enjoyed. Just a couple of minutes' walk from Leiden Square and where you can pick up the Love Canal boat cruise. Main tram stops 5 min walk away. The hotel does front a main road which we overlooked on the first floor but the noise wasn't...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
