This was a good decision for us. The location allowed us to walk everywhere we wanted to go each day and night. We had a canal view room on the second floor with a steep set of stairs to it which may be challenging to some people. The hotel is in an area with a supermarket, bakery etc and a...

We really enjoyed our stay being a family of four and had a family suite room. The hotel is a typical Amsterdam house and the stairs are quite narrow but part of the experience. The staff were very helpful in advising us for the nearest tram stop just 5mins away. Very centric hotel and major tourist attractions very near. Not a...

We booked this hotel online and we were not disappointed. Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, great views from the breakfast room of the everyday life of the Dutch people. No lift but my bag was carried up and down the four flights of stairs on arrival and departure. Walking distance to a lot of sights. We loved staying...

It's the best spot in Amsterdam - on a busy bike-encircled corner of the lovely Prinsengracht, wonderful to watch from the sunny breakfast room as Amsterdam wakes up every morning. Very friendly comfortable characterful hotel. The only snag was 4 floors, no lift - if you're game, and can carry your bags up those stairs, it's a real find. And...

Whilst the hotel was very basic in terms of room facilities it was clean and centrally located. Its not that close to a tram line but they can be reached within a few blocks walk. The room had a great view over the canal and was handy to reach all the attractions of Amsterdam. Unfortunately did not make the breakfast...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
