Its five minutes from a square with alot of bookstpres and there are quite a few antique and speciality shops close by. Its also on the edge of the very character filled Jodaan and a close...

It was a pleasant stay in Amsterdam. The ways to the sights were short. The service and staff was excellent.

If your looking for a typical Dutch style hotel in the middle of the cobblestones and canals - right in the heart of Amstrerdam, then this is your hotel. This is a family owned and operated hotel with three connected buildings on a busy corner on the Prinsengracht canal. It has the steep steps if you like that - and...

Points to choose this hotel: location, home atmosphere, nice decoration, clean and suitable sizedrooms, affordable service (cleaning, advising, transfer). Points to avoid this hotel: no lift and the stairs at one of the wings are very steep, pretty average breakfast, cold rooms with no tea or coffee kettle, staff is not alaways on duty even during the day time. Overall-...

The merits: ~ Breakfast room with a charming view, one of the nicest I've ever seen in Amsterdam ~ Unlike most other Amsterdam hotels, breakfast was automatically offered as part of the booking ~ Charming, old Europe ambiance ~ At the heart of Amsterdam's charming part, right on the Negen Straatjes, only about 300 m from the Leidseplein and about...

This was our first stay in Amsterdam. They made our stay easy and wonderful. Gave us suggestion of visits. Next time we will definitely stay there. It's an older building but with so much charm. I highly recommend hat hotel.

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
