By far the cheapest accommodation we could find in Amsterdam over the weekend. More like a hostel than hotel but was clean, location was ideal and staff were helpful with directions & transport. If you're a bunch of mates looking for a cheap room and aren't too fussy this place definitely does the job.

We were looking for cheap but close to the center hotel in Amsterdam. The Trianon Hotel seemed appropriate accommodation structure. The airport bus stop just outside the hotel. The downtown Trams also run direct vicinity of the hotel. The Museum Square (Museumplein) is within walking distance in one minute. (Here's the Stedelijk Museum, the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum.) So...

This hotel is more like a hostel. Rooms are very basic. This is just a room to sleep in. Spent as little time in the room as possible. It is above a Chinese restaurant and the whole place smells of Chinese food. There is no air con. It was so hot and stuffy. Only good thing about this place is...

Terribly rude staff Shower kept setting off the smoke detector. The maintenance super intendant barged into my room accusing me of smoking and started yelling at me. Room was gross. Hotel IS literally right across the street from the museum quarter and train stop

Shocking hotel. Rude staff. Horrible rooms! 5 young girl took a trip to Amsterdam and stayed in this hotel. We come in from a drinking night out and got threatened to be kicked out of the room at 2:30am in the middle of Amsterdam? The guy was rude and aggressive about the situation. One day we went out for a...

I have just returned from a short stay in Amsterdam, the location of this hotel is brilliant. The hotel itself is a little basic but clean enough. I read some horror stories on here and was very worried but our room was great.

This hotel is easily the worst i've ever been to. Our room? No bin, Sink clearly didn't fit in the minuscule bathroom so was next to the beds. Room was dirty, bathroom was shockingly bad. Worst of all? No hot water. Unbelievable. Hallways filled with clutter, towels and bedsheets etc. Throughout 3 day stay no cleaning of rooms and no...

OK let's keep it short but sweet. Don't be fooled by the pictures, these are of the Chinese restaurant next door that just so happens to be were you have breakfast (the hotel does not look like this far from it.) Breakfast was awful, who has soup for breakfast? The stairs are extremely steep the smells are obnoxious. I actually...

When We were at the airport we started to read some reviews and we feel disappointed but when we arrived I friendly guy was there and he was really charming. The room could be a few small for eight but for us it isn't a big problem. The location of the hotel is fantastic and the bed sheets and towels...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
