After seeing terrible reviews I spent the first night very restless. However after getting over the fear of bed bugs! Which there was none! Yey! The bed was comfy, the room was adequate. It's a budget hotel. Don't book budget and expect 4* treatment. Yes it needs ALOT of tlc but it's a camp base. We were in our room... More

This is the worst hotel I have ever booked since i started travelling. 1- the room is so small. 2- the staff is unprofessional at all and they don't know anything about hotels or hospitality. 3- no cleaning or even changing bed sheets (bed bugs) !!!!! 4- the staff is so rude in talking with guests, they are entering rooms... Besides all the things, one of the most importance - this place has bedbugs everywhere! It's totally disqualifying and most awful thing hotel can have. Not only you'll get bitten, but bring them home!

Having seen all the bedbug reviews on here I was terrified before we got here! 8 of us stayed in 1 room with 4 sets of bunk beds. It wasn't dirty, they gave us loads of towels, the cleaner came round at least 3 times in the 6 days we were there and the reception people were (mostly) friendly and... More

- Stayed in a 8 person room with 6 people (4 bunk beds), - Room had a balcony (that was probably the best part) - Bathroom was very small, however wouldn't expect the Hilton for how much we paid. - There were NO BEG BUGS on this trip - Hotel staff were nice however needed a first aid kit for... It was a large enough room for 6 of us, it wasn't the cleanest but it was okay. The towels were changed everyday and bedsheets every two days. There was no iron or coffee machine in the room and the safe didn't work. Great location, right near vondel park, rijk museum and Van Gogh. The super market was a 2... More

The towels and bed sheets were dirty, the walls and tiles old peeling and gross. The bathroom looked like it hasn't been cleaned in years. Overall very bad experience. Don't recommend this hotel at all.

We have booked via the internet. When we phoned in to try and change the type off room, it was not possible, also not very helpful. Room was very small, mattress very soft, not to clean. Very expensive for what we got. Location was good.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
