Location to museums is terrific and so is Max's staff!! The breakfast options are hearty and delicious! Now, here is the deal: the rooms are tiny and are not air conditioned. On the 4th floor with all windows open and fan provided, the room is really stifling. The double beds are smashed next to the wall so you need to... More

Dear Evan, Thanks for the feedback. I am really happy with your compliments about my team, I will surely share it with them. Please know that the works in our street will be finished in about 1 or 2 weeks, that is something we can not influence unfortunately. Als I would like to inform you that we will be changing... Disappointing stay. Stains on curtains and dusty room. Indifferent staff only interested in charging 5% tax on departure. Not even asked if had a good stay. Room was so small - booked superior and if 305 is superior I wouldn't want to imagine the smaller rooms. Good shower but no extraction in bathroom cupboard. Steep dark stairs all over hotel.... The first experience when entering this hotel is the the steep steps to the lobby. Not really recommended with old or handicapped. We had big luggages and had to carry these up the steps. The elevator is very old and the alley to the elevator is very dark. The room is big, the bed very comfy and big size. But... More

Very nice little hotel close to the Museum Square (you can almost crawl there) and about 15 minutes by foot to the Leidseplein. As the hotel is somewhat in the periphery of downtown Amsterdam, you can actually go there by car, although you of course have to pay for the parking in the very nice and quiet street. The rooms... However sorry to hear my team did not give you some nice restaurant options nearby, as there surely are and really much nice then at the touristy Leidseplein. So next time, please let us know. Hope to welcome you back someday. Best... More

5 minutes from museums, comfortable rooms. All staff friendly and willing to help with recommendations of what to see and places to eat. Hopefully the road outside will be finished soon as it is more like a beach than a road, but this doesn't take away how good the hotel is. Would definitely recommend.

We have just enjoyed 5 nights with our family occupying 2 rooms. Although our room was small with a tiny bathroom it was comfortable and perfectly adequate. Our daughter's family room was very spacious. The location is excellent museums, restaurants, trams and park nearby. The breakfast was more than adequate for us with a good variety of food. The staff,... More

This hotel has had a trendy refit, but they've done it on the cheap and not sorted out the basics. The location is great and the staff are lovely and very helpful but the building needs a major rethink (and air conditioning fitting to it).

The hotel is in the best location, close to Tram stations and busses, but also a walking distance from a few museums, sites and cafes.(there is a station right across from the hotel, with a bus to\from the airport). The rooms are small as in all Amsterdam hotels, but enough for a 4 night stay (we were out all day... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
