We stayed here for three nights. Prior to arrival, having revisited TA reviews on the hotel I asked for an upgrade to a large double. I am glad I did as the upgraded room was not especially large, so I hate to think what a standard room is like. But I think in terms of booking a hotel room in...

Perfect location if you want to see the great art museums nearby. Clean and comfortable beds and room. Staff was helpful and nice. Our plane arrived around 10 in the morning and they let us leave our bags before check-in.

Check in was smooth, we got city map etc.. they allowed us to leave baggage because we arrived early. We were a bit worried because we reserved small twin room...which turns out not to be so small. It was spacious and even our room was facing street on ground floor-it was quiet. Its a nice and quiet neighborhood. Hotel and...

Max Brown Museum Square is a great Amsterdam boutique hotel! Breakfast is included, so you can start your day of exploring with a hearty breakfast in your tummy for energy! Our room was a standard double, but, totally tiny! It really didn't matter though as we were only in it to unwind and sleep. Mostly a quiet location, except for...

What a great feel this hotel has - loved it all! Very close to the museums and shopping precinct (shame the 'shopping precinct' was all high end shops and way over our budget!). We may have been better staying closer to the city centre for a better range of restaurants within walking distance, as it's easy to get to the...

We have just returned from our 3 night break at Max Brown. The hotel is located in the muesum quarter, easy to get to from the airport (catch the 197 bus) which drops you off at the top of the street. There is good tram links for reaching the rest of the city. You can walk to dam Square, red...

This is the second time we stayed in this hotel. We opted for a superior room - well worth it as the standard room is compact to say the least. The location is great and the staff are all helpful. Breakfast is good and the 24 hr reception bar is handy. We will be back - I'd definitely recommend this...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
