We finally got the chance to make a four-day trip to Amsterdam, rather last minute, and were lucky to find this hotel the week before. The location, a block from the National museum( Rijksmuseum ) as well as Van Gogh Museum, a block from major tramway lines, two blocks from the canal where you can board a blue boat, made... More

Stayed here for 5 days on a family vacation aiming to visit key attractions (Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh etc) The hotel is recently renovated with a more stylish than hotel like design. Staff are young and super friendly, cozy bar and good straightforward breakfast. Rooms do NOT have airconditioning bear in mind if freezing US hotel temperatures is your thing. Thanks... More

Great location for the museums and in a very safe, beautiful and quiet area. Approximately €19 euros in a taxi from central station however hop on either the number 2 or 5 tram for just €2.60, the Reiss Museum stop is located just 100 yards from the hotel. The rooms are all very clean with a very cool and unique... More

Fantastic hotel and the very best staff so friendly and accommodating. Nice to sit in the bar at reception and have a drink and some chocolate or fudge ! The pillows are amazing. We would definitely go back. The location could not be better.

Stayed here on a mid week break and it was lovely. The room was spotless and quirky styled. Obviously smaller than other hotel rooms around the world but that's part of amsterdams charm! Small selection at breakfast but it's enough (toast cereal) Have read about some people saying it's hot at night but myself and my partner were perfectly fine... More

This hotel was great considering we were a bunch of rowdy British girls on a hen weekend. We even called down to the reception room, annoying them playing dares. No harm done. This hotel was surprisingly really nice. I don't think we expected much anyway because we went with the cheaper option. The staff were nice. The breakfast was good.... More

We were a family two nigths in Amsterdam. The hotel was perfect for us. We wanted something good and cheap as we were going to spend little time in there, only for sleep. The hotels has a good location to visit amsterdam. The room was beautiful with comfortable beds. Maybe a little small for three and a baby but was... More

Perfect location! Suite was spacious and confortable for family of four. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great. Staircases are narrow and very steep but luckily there was an elevator! Would stay again.

Fantastic location, super friendly staff who were always there to answer any questions & provide helpful information. Continental breakfast had great selection and breakfast staff there to replenish & tidy up as required. Although street being dug up at present this didn't cause any issues. Handy for tram line and local parks. Given no air conditioning it was very warm... More

We booked a small room and it was tiny but really charming and comfortable. The staff was very helpful at all times helping us with bookings, directions, recommendations and translations! The breakfast was basic but fresh and tastey - great coffee by the gallons.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
