I didnt have any choice other than this hostel when I visited Amsterdam on a weekend in high season. The location is good, some young staffs are friendly. One thing which could be a problem is that the building itself is not that clean and new. I dont recommend you to stay there in summer because the room will be so...

Even though it was a relaxed atmosphere with friendly service, the words that come to mind with this hostel is dirty & unclean. Unfortunately, that is the lasting impression. If you're gonna stay for more than a night, I recommend staying somewhere else. I only needed a place for the night & I chose Bob's because it was the cheapest....

Bob's Youth Hostel is the worst hostel I've ever stayed in and I would not recomment it to anyone. the staff were incompetent, the rooms were cramped and from my expeience look nothing like they do in the photos, the breakfast isnt worth eating and the price is completely ridiculous for what you get. If you wanna see a full...

Four of us stayed here in June from New Zealand and were gutted with the room when we arrived! Grafti on the wall in the room said "bob this place is a s#*t hole" and that summed it up. Room was up very steep 3 flights of stairs and room and bath room were dirty. The bunks were almost falling...

I stayed at Bob's for a week with a group of 7 girlfriends, we were in a mixed room of 20 beds. Overall it was pretty standard for a hostel, I've stayed in much better but am also sure there are much worse out there! It was average priced, about 18€ per night. Pros: - The location's pretty good, 5...

Full of young people, perfect if all you want to see in Amsterdam is the back of your eyelids, I don't generally like to smoke where I eat so beware. Beds were clean and it was good for the price but I wouldn't recommend it unless your a teenage boy

Didn't expect much before I got there but it really was one of the best parts of our Amsterdam experience. Stayed here with 2 friends in a 18 bed dorm. Beds were comfy and cleaned before we slept in them. The shower and toilet were clean. The breakfast is satisfactory, two rounds of toast, a boiled egg, jam and a...

I stayed in a provate room, really beautiful bit very dirty. There were plastic bottles underneath the beds and a lot of dust. Is is clear to me that nobody cleans that room prior to new arrivals. Breakfast is terrible. Very well located though. We found a rat inside our room.

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
