Despite arriving with bad expectations, we all found the hostel extremely gross. The shower was disgusting - the roof was all mossy and rotten looking and the steam from your shower would rise onto it and drip back down onto you while you shower. There were also these weird bugs crawling around our beds, not sure if they're bed bugs... More

Everything was fine except it was too hot to sleep at night due to no air conditioning. Great location and good vibes. A few bugs on the wall on the first night after no issues. You get what you pay for.

We spent there 2 nights. The hostel is quite dirty, especially bathroom that has a not nice smell. The shower is not very clean, be careful do not never touch its curtain!! The wifi does not work correctly and you have to move in The room searching for a good signal.

I went on a girls trip and i did not have a say on where we stayed and when we arrived here i was mortified. Our hostel room had 8 beds in a mixed dorm room and when we arrived we went to our room and to our beds and when i went onto my bed my bed sheets at... More

I found very rude people, in particular against italians. If you are from another place of the world that is not Italy, that's ok. But if you are Italian beware of talking with the recepionists or the cleaners, they are very rude and get angry very easily. And if they get angry they kick you out with no reasons, just... More

We stayed as a group of 4 for 4 nights over the Kings Day celebrations. Whilst this hostel does have its strengths, overall our experience was quite poor. The good: Location- it's a five minute walk from the central station, and you can walk pretty much anywhere/ the tram is right outside the front door. The free coffee in the... More

The location of this hostel is really good, it is 5 mins walking distance from Amsterdam Central Station. The reception guy, Sebastian is very helpful in answering our questions. Absolutely appreciate that. We stayed in the 16 bed female dorm. The pillow and duvet are comfortable and clean. Perhaps if plug can be more will be good. There are only... More

Bob's is nothing fancy, but you get clean sheets, a shower, and a helpful front desk. For the price point it is definitely worth a stay. I will say that it was not the most lively hostel, but that probably had more to do with time of year than place itself.

After reading some of the reviews on here before our visit we were a little wary of what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. We were 6 students on a weekend break and the hostel was perfectly adequate. It was in a great location with decent rooms that seemed fairly clean. Obviously not a luxury stay but was fine for... Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
