Lovely hotel, our room was tiny but it had everything we needed, you get breakfast which includes boiled eggs, meat and cheese and you also get toast and different cereals. They provided tea and coffee until 10pm which is such a lovely touch. We will be back, Thank You!

So with a lot of enthusiasm we booked this place reading positive reviews . We were greeted warmly by Eva. She made sure we understood every bit about the place:) we are 4 friends and we booked 2 rooms and paid extra for the canal view rooms! The hotel doesn't have a lift- so watch out if u have heavy...

The hotel sounded lovely and the reviews were good. Quaint and staff were friendly. Booked a canal view room which was right on the top floor. The room was just way too small as was the bathroom. With two people it was just too difficult and checked out after one night. If you were on your own it would be...

We travelled to Amsterdam to take part in the Half Marathon on the 16th October and decided to also use it as an excuse to have a short city break as we had never been before. We stayed at the Hoksbergen for 3 nights and found it to be a lovely place to stay and in an amazing location. We...

Me and my partner stayed at the Hoksbergen for 4 nights in July. We arrived early in the morning and left our bags with them until we checked in. The staff were very friendly and we were offered coffee and food as we arrived during breakfast time! Our room itself was on the 3rd floor and although the stairs are...

This trip was part of an adventure for my daughter who graduated early... Went to book places from London, to Paris then from Paris to Amsterdam.... Things that you would not be aware of booking this particular hotel is that they DO NOT have airconditioning!!!!! It wouldn't be so bad if the place were cleaned properly!! It is an older...

Whilst I feel that this hotel is a little overpriced for what it is, it is worth considering for the great location and attitude of the staff. It is located alongside one of the oldest and prettiest main canals, in a fairly upmarket area of the city. It is ideal for visiting most of the main tourist sites, everything we...

We had a very small and basic room on the top floor of the hotel. Steep and narrow stairs took us there, so if you have difficulty to claim stairs, ask lower floor. Bedlinen was dirty when we arrived, so asked new ones from reception and changed them myself. Mattress was not comfortable. Breakfast was ok. View was nice towards...

The location of this hotel is fantastic! Just two blocks from the main tram line from the train station, and right around the corner from Spui, which has a lot of great restaurant/cafe options. It was very easy to get around Amsterdam from this location, and the staff were very helpful with directions and advice. While the location was great,...

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our small hotel is situated in a beautiful canal-house that is over 300 years old, nestled on the quiet, picturesque Singel, the oldest of the four major ring canals in Amsterdam's famed inner city. Our cosy hotel offers an oasis right in the centre of town. The hustle and bustle of the shopping streets around Dam Square, the charm of the myriad canals lined with 17th-century houses and world famous sights, such as the Anne Frank House, are all literally steps away. There are also convenient trams and other public transport options to whisk you off to all of the city's many attractions. Room information: the hotel offers 13 double and single rooms and one triple room. We serve a good continental breakfast-buffet in our light and pleasant breakfast room. Rooms are ready for check in at 14.00 o'clock. If you arrive earlier we can store your luggage until then. We look forward to have you as our guests! ... more   less
