I recently visited Max Brown Canal District as a part of a group of 2 travelers. Out of the 6 of us, two couples purchased canal rooms while I chose to book a standard room because it was listed as being larger. The rooms were all very cozy, clean & comfortable (though very small.) Of the two canal rooms booked...

A little gem of a hotel. The location on the side of the canal is ideal for strolling around and within easy reach of Central Station for the start of canal and sight seeing tours. I had lost my asthma inhaler on the way to the hotel and Josephine made enquiries at a chemist and then made me an appointment...

Fantastic !ocation . Quirky interior, cozy and welcoming . Staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Room small but adequate. Only a couple of small points... No bedside table and not able to put bedside light off without getting out of bed and switching off at the door. No coffee in room only tea and tin mugs got too...

A great location, close to the station and the central zone but in a quiet street. Room we had was fairly small but had everything you need for a short stay (the stairs are difficult after a night out). Staff very friendly and they have a lovely little bar. A great place to stay I would recommend.

Great find! Lovely friendly helpful staff. I had the tiny tiny room at the top of the house but it was fine as I was out all day and just needed a good sleep at night. The bed was very comfortable and there was everything you need in the room. The communal area had lots of ambience if you didn't...

Such a central spot, 500 metres from train station. Great rooms and breakfast. Staff attentive and imparts great information. Not far from everything. We could stroll around any time feeling safe in the area, and the hot chocolate served in the bar is a must Max Brown rocks.

I loved the quirky feel of this small hotel. Our rooms were situated in the outer building of the hotel, so we had a front door key as well as a room key, this didn't really make a difference to us, accept you had to go outside to get to the hotel reception, again this wasn't really a problem! It...

The location is certainly a strong positive for the Max Brown, as it's within walking distance of lots of interesting things, and the station, which is convenient. The room was decorated in an unusual but pleasing style, one wall covered with wooden boards, and a handful of interesting wall hangings. The bathroom was excellent, in particular the shower which was...

I stayed at the hotel in January. I booked through a booking site which didn't tell me the room I booked was tiny (this is, however, mentioned on their own website).
