4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW via mobile

Excellent design hotel, a small single room was very tiny, about 8 feet square, with the shower inside and a toilet across the hall (only 1 room has this setup) . That said, the price was right, and the staff are fantastic. No AC, which made the room a bit stuffy, but not a big deal. Will definitely stay again.

We stayed in the Max Brown hotel while in Amsterdam, and were very happy with our choice! It was a reasonably priced Amsterdam hotel option, with a great location! Very quirky and quaint bar area/reception desk, with unique rooms. The rooms were not big, but were cleverly decorated to provide comfort and functionality. Our canal view was well worth the... After spending 5 days in Amsterdam, I didn't want to leave. The hotel was easy to find, close to Dam Square, and reasonably priced. You are greeted by a welcome, package which includes some snacks and wine. They have free wifi throughout the hotel. Breakfast was good, although they don't have croissants which I really wanted! They have the rest... More

Max Brown hotel is only a 10 minute walk from Central Station and in the lovely canal district, a great get-away from the bustle of some of the livelier areas of Amsterdam and yet wonderfully close. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is ample and free :) Our room was at the top of their adjacent building... More

I stayed the Max Brown hoping to get a taste of 'real Amsterdam'. I had a deluxe, canal view room which was small but stylish. I had snacks left on my bed which was a nice touch and the bed was very comfortable. The bar is pricey and I found one bar tender to be quite rude one evening. I... More

Dear Laura M, Thank you for your stay and feedback, I am glad to read you enjoyed the view from your canal room! Sorry to hear the breakfast was not to your liking, it is a complimentary breakfast for all of our guests and a typical Dutch way of starting your day. With Kind Regards, Nadine Simons More

Noisiest Hotel Ever! Read Reviews Carefully! This hotel has amazing décor and is in a great location. However if you love being woken at 2am to the sound of the staff vacuum cleaning outside your room then this Is the place for you. We were given room number 003, which is on the ground floor adjacent to the lobby and... More

Just stayed here for 3 nights with family (including a 6yr old). Hotel lovely, staff couldn't do enough for us. Sadly on our last night (Friday) some of the hotel guests were very nosy causing a disturbed sleep. Would definitely come back again but aim to stay mid-week

Lovely hotel, great atmosphere and the staff are really helpful even letting us borrow phone chargers for our room as we forgot ours. The hotel is along the canal, it's a short walk into the busier areas of the city but the hotel is lovely and quiet as not right in the middle of all the bars and cafes. Rooms... More

We stayed at the Max Brown Canal District for a long weekend and it was lovely. A small unique hotel with friendly helpful staff. We had a small canal view room which was lovely, small but everything you need. Hotel was close to everything once you get your bearings. Overall a lovely stay.
