Friendly and helpful service ready to assist with any query, topped by a complementary (and reasonably fast) Internet PC in the lobby. The price was slightly higher than other hotels on our trip, but we were advised on checking out this could be negated somewhat by shopping around various sites for a price.

This hotel was instantly inviting. We arrived into Schiphol, caught the train to Central Station then right outside the door of Central Station took #2 Tram to the stop a block from Hotel Zanderbergen. This location is wonderful, nice cafes, the beautiful Vondelpark and walking distance (or tram ride) to all the museums and historic areas. The owner Henk is...

We stayed at the Zandbergen and had a good experience. Firstly the location is excellent. We thought the centre of Amsterdam was a bit rough. A 10 minute tram ride to the Zandbergen gets you to a lovely residential area with a pleasant park and top quality restaurants. The owner is helpful and welcoming ,as is his staff. The rooms...

Staying at this hotel is a very pleasant experience. Nice room (No 5 with a spacious balcony), helpful and pleasant staff, breakfast included - which is uncommon in Amsterdam. Nice area, many small cafes and restaurants in the side streets, small shops with not as many customers as in central Amsterdam. 5 minutes with tram line 2 to Leidseplein, 15...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
