I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel from the very warm welcome at check-in to the help with directions at check-out! The rooms are comfortable and clean. The location is very good. There is a tram stop very close by and it is also possible to work to the Museum Plein. I recommend this place!

This hotel is the epitome of Amsterdam charm. It's clean, friendly, quiet, inviting and has a wonderful quirkiness that makes you feel as though you are staying in a friend's spare room rather than a hotel. Everything is to quite a high standard but very understated and not in any way cold and impersonal. The hotel is in the museum...

We had stayed at Magnolia for two nights and it was a great experience. The staff is very frinedly and an exact problem solver. The cleaning of the room is satisfying. The room's size is big enough for comfortable stay especially compare with the other facilities in Amsterdam. I will highly recomend this hotel.

I need to stay in Amsterdam on a regular basis and I am very happy that I can always count on the staff of Magnolia. Always very hospitable and helpful and this time I even found a vase with a lovely bunch of flowers in my room to welcome me. The location is great too: near a lovely park, yet...

nice location, close to some bars/cafes, one major drawback is the lack of elevator plus the stairs are narrow and steep, generally a cosy place with spacious rooms, i had some issues with internet connection

In a great location with easy transport to and from the city centre ,using the tram which is a short walk up the street. Clean room which was a good size with a nice bathroom. Only reason I wouldn't give it 5 was because of the stairs you had to carry your bags up to get to the room. Very...

Hi Nicola, thank you for your personalised review and explanation. It's true, we can not change the stairs, just make sure that the service is tiptop and carry the luggage up the stairs. Did you also discover the shops and local restaurants around the corner?!

I had a 26 hour layover in Amsterdam, so I really just needed a place to put my feet up while I was en route to my final destination. I arrived at the hotel several hours before check in, but I was greeted with coffee, given a map and pointers about the city, and allowed to leave my bag while...

Dear MaryGrace, we are pleased to read you had a good layover in Amsterdam. The hotel is indeed conveniently located if time is limited and you travel back&forth to the airport and at the same time want to flash visit some of the highlights like the Rijks Museum. We hope you a pleasant onward journey and hope to see you...

A warm welcoming, a caring and friendly staff in this cosy hotel located close to the museums. Lovely neighbourhood, tram station very close and direct bus from the airport at 5/10 minutes walk. The breakfast was very good and fresh. We loved that place!

Great location. Friendly, helpful staff. Relaxed but modern feel to the dining, rooms and reception. Small rooms but great for money and very tidy. Few nice touches make you feel at home and the Number 2 Tram stops almost outside for very easy access to Center and you can walk to the museums. Definitely recommend and would use again.

Location is great - in a quiet neighborhood, with great connection by tram and foot to the city center and the museums. Beautiful large rooms. friendly and helpful staff. Big con - no elevator, may be tiring if you have a room on the 3 floor... However, must point that the staff carried all the heavy luggage up to the...

Thank you for your nice comments. And it's true, we do carry all bags and shopping up and down the stairs if needed. It keeps us in shape :-). Look forward to welcoming you back during a next stay in Amsterdam.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
