This hotel is the epitome of Amsterdam charm. It's clean, friendly, quiet, inviting and has a wonderful quirkiness that makes you feel as though you are staying in a friend's spare room rather than a hotel. Everything is to quite a high standard but very understated and not in any way cold and impersonal. The hotel is in the museum... More

Very welcoming reception team, nice relaxed atmosphere. The room was ideal and we really enjoyed our stay. I liked the honesty bar system which reinforced the informal atmosphere. The hotel provided off street storage for our bikes.

great service. all the staff was super nice and attentive. clean, spacious rooms. the location is not perfect, but still pretty ok. 10 mins walking from the museum square and 25 mins walking to city centre. The price was super, considering what other hotels and hostels are charging. totally recommended.

I stopped by for a weekend stay by myself and hotel Magnolia was a good choice. It's in a good location, very near to famous Park and tram station. Tram no brings you to a no of famous tourist spots. Hotel staffs are very friendly and they gave a lot of info for you to move around the town on... More

Had a fabulous stay at the neighbours Magnolia for the first weekend of July. Staff - the staff were very friendly, approachable and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and our needs were met. Cleanliness - We left our room in a right state after a night out in Amsterdam and did not expect our room... More

We stayed one night at the hotel. Check in, check out and response to our questions are excellent, kind and helpful receptionists. The room was fine for 2, nice and clean bathroom white and bordeaux without window, with a bath and toilet (not separate). The decoration in the hotel is original and cosy. The room with garden view was quiet.... More

My husband and I had a great 3 night stay at this friendly little hotel. It is located in a quiet, less-touristy area, which we enjoyed, and is still very close to the Vondelpark and Museumsplein. The staff helped us to rent bikes and this made getting everywhere very easy- I recommend biking since it is the thing to do... More

We had a lovely big room with an outdoor decking area/balcony which was a nice bonus. The hotel was really nice with a very friendly receptionist who was great with tips and advice for things to do in Amsterdam. Breaksfast was basic but tasty and the hotel was about ten mins walk into the city centre. Would definitely stay here... More

It was a large room with a view to the street, it also had a large bathroom. It was close to many museums and the great Voldepark. It was easy to travel by tram. Restaurants and shop were very close a.

When you stay in street side, you will hear noises of tram people talking, shouting, you even smell the smell of weeds from outside. The shower is hot and cold, if you try to get a little hotter, you will get burned. People are nice, but I would not recommend the hotel.

Thank you very much for your review and compliment to the Team! With respect to the street noise, it is correct that the rooms facing the road are noisier that those facing the back. However, the tram stops around midnight and the neighbourhood is an upmarket residential area and therefore actually rather quiet (especially compared to the tourist center).... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
