My husband and I decided to turn a 2 hour layover in amsterdam into a 3 day trip and we were not disappointed. Hotel hegra was perfect for us, right on the canal, quiet, and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly, breakfast was always fresh and reasonably priced. During our down times we would quite often sit at... More

Fabulous little hotel in 'nine streets' on the canal. Really pretty area with lots restaurants and smaller museums close by. Great atmosphere. Spotlessly clean and plenty hot water. Excellent breakfast. Will come again. Stairs were fun!

We chose this hotel based on location and price. We had wanted to stay in the Canal rings - and not spend a fortune. This was not cheap - had 4 twin beds - very tiny room - must be family or very close friends. Bathroom small (think like a cruise ship small) - efficient. You do not want to... More

In love with this hotel. Wonderful view, excellent location, basic but so cute and comfortable room, friendly staff, aborable Otello the cat. Wi-fi was good. We enjoyed our breakfast. Look forward to return there.

Great view of the canal from the 3rd floor. The area was fairly quiet but because there was no ceiling fan or air conditioning we had to sleep with the windows open and people walking around at night or a passing car could be loud so we needed ear plugs. Room was very small but it's what we expected. Would... More

Extremely disappointed with the hotel. My big complaint is they only provided a fitted sheet and a blanket on the two beds in my room during my 3 night stay. For the money I paid and the hotel description stated "premium bedding", I expect sheets on the bed. My other grievances are minor and I could have overlooked but they... More

I stayed at Hotel Hegra for a few days with a friend on vacation. There was some confusion at the desk as to our arrival dates. When I got to my room, I couldn't have been more disappointed! There was mold on the bathroom door and the floors were not clean. The worst experience was folding down the bed comforter... More

Friendly Staff, great location, overlooking the canal, room we had was small but very nice, the only drawback for some will be the steep stairs to rooms. We enjoyed our stay, and visited the recommended Restaurant for some good local food, We walked everywhere from the Flower market to the Ann Frank House, and also the Red Light District. I... More

This is not a bad hotel for the price. If you want closer or bigger then you'll have to pay more. 5 minuets walk from Amsterdam square therfore the location is good. The rooms are small but very clean and just what you need. Hotel staff are friendly! Be prepared for very steep stairs but that's the normal in Amsterdam.... More

We stayed here over Easter and would thoroughly recommend the hotel. It over looks the canal and is in a great location as most places are with in a 10 minute walk. It was a typical building being a very tall and narrow house with very steep steps. The family room was clean and there was enough room for the... More
