Great communication before we arrived, easy 15 min walk from the train station and met as we arrived at 9.30. The suite was gorgeous with dressing gowns, hair dryer, slippers and the bathroom even had makeup remover pads, nail file and q tips. There was a free mini bar with lager, water, soft drinks and a bottle of red. Heating easy to change by turning the outside dial on the thermometer. Kettle and nespresso coffee maker with a wide range of coffees to choose from. It was unfortunate that due to the corona virus all museums were shut but we did a lot of walking, a boat ride, food market, the Hilton bar and, of course, the red district! Flower market all shut down. As restaurants closed on the Sunday evening we got finger foods from the local supermarket but we had an email form Meryl and Susan asking if we needed anything -they couldn't have been more helpful and caring. We will definitely come back to Amsterdam and to Hotel IX. Just a heads up - there is no TV in the suite and there is the beautiful sound of bells regularly day and night - light sleepers may need ear plugs.

The nine streets are arguably the most trendy shopping district in central Amsterdam and are not yet taken over completely by chains. While being busy and bustling, the area is not as loud as the streets around Dam square. The hotel offers only a few rooms and no breakfast, but the rooms are unusually large and stylish. We had a suite with a large living room and a separate bedroom. There is a complete set of amenities, including nespresso machine, kettle, free minibar and wine. The beds are super comfy. Our suite had windows into an inner court and a backyard, so it was very quiet. There is no 24h reception, the door code is sent the night before arrival. One of the owners is present between ten and early afternoon each day. They are very friendly and helpful. I felt very comfortable here and would happily return.

Dear Andy, We already discussed this through our facebooksite and as already mentioned, we never received your booking through hotels.com. After I did some research it appeared that you used an invalid creditcard to book the suite. Hotels.com contacted you by email for new creditcard information, but there was no reaction from your side. So your booking never went through, that's why we didnt know anything about this booking. As you removed your review from our facebooksite, I assumed this issue was solved. If not, please dont hesitate contacting me. If desired, I can send all information again. Kind regards Susan

We loved this place. We were in the reestraat on the top floor with our 9year old son and it was perfect for our short stay. Great location, lots of cool cafes, shops and restaurants literally outside the front door. Will definitely stay again.

We stayed at Hotel IX in the Bernstraadt Suite with my mother and son. There was plenty of room, the beds were comfortable, with nice touches like a stocked fridge with beer and juices, and various Nespresso pods. In addition, Merel and Susan were extremely personable and easy to work with, and provided many great recommendations from site seeing to places to eat. We brought mom here for her 70th birthday, and Susan and Merel surprised her with a bottle of wine in the room as well as a happy birthday sign on the window. The hotel is in a fantastic location with great shops and cafes.
