I can't recommend this hotel enough.Having just sent two nights there, I would say try it for yourself. Great location, friendly staff, good food and comfort. Easy to get to, close to all major attractions but perfectly quiet at night. Thanks to the wonderful staff for making it so memorable.

We have stayed in this hotel now twice in one year. We love it: it is so so convenient, not only to get to from the airport, but also so convenient to the various museums and the city. The proprietor and his team are so helpful and friendly. And how do I even start to explain the fabulous breakfasts and...

Our stay at the Hotel Fita was excellent. Great location, comfortable, good breakfast, welcoming owners. Would certainly visit again when we are back in Amsterdam. Quiet street location, although near a small Primary School, we never heard anything, even though our room looked over to it. Would highly recommend.

This is a very small hotel with very friendly staff. The breakfast every morning was just to die for. We loved the Dutch pancakes! They were very accommodating with my disabilities & storage for my wheelchair. We would definitely stay again if we come back to Amsterdam.

Advantages: -perfect location, easy access to/from Schiphol airport(via public bus no197, costs only 5€ pp/oneway), close to museums, top designers shops, easy access to Dam square(via tram lines 2 and 5). -polite staff, you feel like your own home. -breakfast. Disadvantage: -little space in the room,we had a twin room, two beds together, did not like so much. We would...

For all items when you think about a good hotel: the quality is amazing, specially attendance, infrastructure and location. Nearby the museum square, the tram that takes you to all places in Amsterdam, a kind of boulevard where you find a variety of restaurant. If you want to go the boats and the Vondelpark the hotel stays at 5 minutes...

Good location to access downtown by foot. Nicely appointed European style rooms. Fantastic breakfast with home-made crepes. clean and easy accessible. Unfortunately, the hotel is located across a youth hostel which may result in noisy nights subject to the location of your room.

Comfortable room in a very well located hotel (less than 5 minutes to Vondelpark and museums, 15 minutes to centre). A really nice area of Amsterdam to stay in. The room was clean and well cared for. A decent breakfast was included (the Dutch pancakes were a really nice touch) and it is very reasonably priced for this area. I...

Hotel Fita is a small, family-run hotel located on a quiet (except during recess at the school across the street :-) ) street in the museum quarter of Amsterdam. Our family of three stayed for four nights in November. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. Great location for visiting the Rijksmuseum and the VanGogh...

Hotel Fita is a charming, clean, comfortable hotel right next to the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseums in Amsterdam. The rooms are simple and adorable, the staff is helpful, friendly, and kind, and the breakfast is delicious. The hotel is bit of a walk to the city center, but it is a nice quiet area to come back to for a...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
