What makes this hotel so wonderful is its friendly and helpful staff, but it would be a great hotel even without gracious and positive hosts because the rooms are spacious and clean, the showers are among the best I've had in any hotel, the beds are comfy, and the breakfast is fresh, ample, and delicious. Definitely allow them to make... More

Lovely small hotel located near Rijks, Van Gough & Stedelijk museums. Also near Vondelpark and easy tram access. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Room was comfortable and breakfast was generous. Definitely say yes to the pancakes. 2 things to be aware of: there is no actual reception desk/staff (more like a B&B in that regard) and although there is... More

Terrific staff, breakfast, room and location. Because it's just a five minute walk from the major museums (Van Gogh, Rikj and more), we could beat the hordes or return for continued viewing later in the afternoon. There's a good cafe right below the holel also. The staff welcome us warmly and oriented us to Amsterdam with a map, directions to... More

Hotel Fita is a small, family run hotel conveniently located near the museumplein. The charm of this hotel is definitely the staff - their attention to detail and the amount they care about their guests is excellent. This is the second time we have stayed at Hotel Fita and we were treated like family friends. Our stay was extremely comfortable... More

I attended a conference at University Amsterdam (VU) for 6 days and was proud to call Hotel Fita my home. Tram 5 is a short block away and took me directly to the University as well as anywhere else important in Amsterdam including Centraal Station. Fita is located in a ritzy neighborhood a pleasant stroll from Museumplein, the Royal Concertgebouw,... More

Nice, clean comfortable place to stay. The bed was one of the most comfortable during our European trip. Breakfast was ok, a bit limited in selection, pancakes were very nice. Location is good, close to museums and good tram access to the city centre. Whilst it is nice and comfortable, I'm not sure why it's ranked so high on TripAdvisor,... More

The Hotel Fita is a small hotel a block from the Van Gogh Museum. It's a convenient location for several sights and museums. It is also just a block from a very high end shopping street. There are several good restaurants and bars in the area. The hotel itself is very nice. The breakfast was good as well. Just a... More

If you are an art enthusiast and want to.visit the Van Gogh and Rijmuseum than this is the place to stay. Has an elevator which was important for us seniors with luggage for a Riverboat cruise. Good breakfast included in price. Needed some help to get Wifi going but did work. Also near a large grocery for lunch fixings. Overall... More

Such a friendly staff in a nice hotel. The location can be seen as one of the best locations in Amsterdam. In direct proximity of the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum, Stedelijk museum, Vondelpark, PC Hooftstraat and more.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
