We recently spent one night at the Hotel Fita and then returned for two more nights. We stayed in their largest and their smallest room. The rooms were basic, but very clean. The bedding was excellent. The shower had some power and so did the hairdryer. This is not a 5 star hotel in looks but a Bed and Breakfast... More

We enjoyed our stay, and we would stay at this hotel again. We didn't hear the construction or children, except at breakfast, and the hotel is in a nice fairly quiet area and very near the tram and bus stops. Pros: The young staff members, including housekeeping, were very pleasant and helpful. Added pluses included laundry, a tasty large breakfast... More

The Hotel Fita seems to be far away from the city centre but it is actually ideally situated on a very quiet tree lined street - 2 minutes from the Van Gogh Museum, 4 minutes from the Rijksmuseum and 3 minutes from a tram. The quite excellent "stop/go" bus service(1 euro per hour) on the Prinsengracht canal is 7 minutes... More

When the owner meets you at the door and cracks a few jokes you know you have come to the right hotel. Hans and Loes runs a warm and cosy hotel near the museum. Our room faced out to a quiet street, the bed was fine and it had a large bathroom. In the morning we had a super coffee... More

We stayed at Hotel Fita for six nights. Nice rooms, great water pressure, delicious breakfast, personable owner and staff. The location is right around the corner from the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, and VondelPark. It's also a 10-15 minute walk to central Amsterdam. Steep stairs to each floor, but luckily they have an elevator for you and your luggage... More

Selected this Hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews.Hans, Rouel and other staff were very friendly and gracious to us during our short visit. Our breakfast was delicious(fresh scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh squeezed juice, fresh fruit and Han's wonderful pancake/crepe along with other assorted breakfast goodies)... More

I think for the big number of feedbacks on Trripadvisor, this hotel will deserve to visit. But not very feeling good after 3 days staying here. The location is the top, very good. People are nice as well. But coupld other things: -. The noise inside the hotel is not managable as it is quite loud. Also there is construction... More

in fear of that its popularity make it difficult to find rooms for future visits. Cause future visits there will be. We found our "home" in Amsterdam. Quiet neighbourhood, great location, very friendly staff, nice room, good beds, great breakfast. What else? Free wifi, coffe and phone calls!

We recently visited Amsterdam and chose Hotel Fita based on the Trip Advisor reviews. We were not disappointed. The hotel is in a perfect location - close to the musuems, within walking distance of city centre and if we tired the tram is within one block of the hotel. The host was there to greet us, provided us with a... More

Always a risk a small hotel - but this was superb. Only 26 guests but wonderful hosts and great staff. B & B included. Free internet - printer too! Free International telephone calls, luggage elevator, clean rooms and dining area. Handy to tram, just outside ring of canals. Too good to miss!

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
