We stayed in the Hotel Fita four nights on our recent trip to the Netherlands. The hotel is in a great location, quiet street yet near to all the places you would want to visit. Tram stop one block away and the airport bus stop is just two blocks away. The owner could not be more gracious and helpful, with... More

This was our third trip to Amsterdam. Our prior hotels were okay, but not noteworthy. This time, we had only two nights, and wanted to be near the museums. The Fita is a mere half-block from the Van Gogh and the Stedelijk. That also means it's half a block from transportation lines, and close to a number of excellent restaurants.... More

When I searched Trip Advisor for hotels in Amsterdam, I noticed great reviews about Hotel Fita. This hotel is a family-run hotel. You will find it on the corner of a tree-lined street one block from the Van Gogh Museum (right by Blushing, Great Food and Coffee) and very near the "Rodeo Drive" Street of Amsterdam. The Ritzmuseum is only... More

I have stayed for four nights. Hotel crews were very kind and nice. Room was clean and comfort, restroom also clean and hot water good. Breakfast was not bad, pancake and coffee were delicious. Hotel is located good place to use transport system. Tram, Bus stop is close. I really recommand to stay here if you visit Amsterdam.

After a 8 day river cruise, we stayed 3 days at the Fita hotel. The room we had was fabulous, very spacious with a beautiful washroom, everyone was great from check in to the breakfast staff, to the owners. We were able to relax completely , tour around the museum area and really nice shops. The whole experience is what... More

We stayed for 5 nights at this hotel in July. The staff/owners were very helpful and friendly. We had a large double which was clean and comfortable with a modern bathroom. There is a lift, which we would not normally use but the stairs are very narrow and winding. It would be nice to have a small fridge in the... More

I'm so glad we stayed at the Hotel Fita and not at one of the large corporate hotels. The room was large and comfortable on the fourth floor with French doors leading out to a small balcony overlooking a tree lined residential street. This street would have been quieter had it not been for a youth hostel across the street... More

This family-run business is nestled a few blocks from Museumplein: walk to major museums and concert hall, Vondelpark, grocery/drug stores, trams, restaurants, bars, etc. The Fita is a small (20 rooms) boutique hotel run more like a B&B in any big city, in that you know who you are dealing with as soon as you walk in the door. The... More

our room was absolutely lovely. Big and airy, it had a small balcony overlooking a tree lined street. The location was perfect - right in the midst of all the major museums. Great breakfast, friendly staff and they even do your laundry. You give them a basket full of laundry in the morning and it is returned to your room... More

wonderful location (right near Museums); spotlessly clean, very pleasant and helpful staff, moderate prices, excellent breakfast, generally good vibe. lots of restaurants, other shops nearby; a bit away from the intense tourist atmosphere so all good in my opinion.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
