We stayed in the quad room for three nights and found the Owl to be the perfect place to stay. The hotel was well-located and we walked everywhere from the Owl. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, it was quiet and easy to rest during the night. We found the staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was plentiful... More

Except for a little noise from doors closing, the Owl lived up to all my expectations. The absolute best hotel staff ever. They help us with all our tours, and finding our away about the city. The breakfast was very nice. All the goodies you want. Also, the best little location away from the hustle, but just steps away from... More

My wife and I stayed for six nights at the Owl over the Christmas holidays and we enjoyed it very much. Very nice room at the back of the hotel, great staff, friendly and informative, nice being in a quiet Amsterdam neighborhood so close to everything. A modest breakfast buffet, but they do have Corn Flakes, in addition to meats... More

We felt very welcome and comfortable right from the beginning. All reception staff were great and more than ready to answer any questions we might have had. Room was comfortable, quite spacious, well appointed and very clean. Breakfast, although continental was also quite good, particularly coffee which was excellent. Breakfast available until 10.30 which was also nice. Good location, near... More

My sister and I stayed at this wonderful hotel and highly recommend it for travelers looking for an above average place to stay at that is a great value. Breakfast was large with many options for travelers from all over the world. Location is excellent, just a couple blocks from Leidseplein Square, which is where the Marriott Hotel is located.... Had an amazing stay at the Owl Hotel. Its a small place in a great location, really central with all amenities and transport links close by, but its in a really quiet and sweet street. The staff were great, so helpful and friendly. The rooms are small but are all you need... Comfortable, safe, clean and warm. Lovely bathroom, comfy... More

My wife collects owls and when we planned a three day trip to Amsterdam, it was natural that the Owl Hotel caught our eye. While that was interesting enough, it was the reviews on TripAdvisor that decided for us. We were not disappointed. It is in an excellent location, on a quiet street in the center of town, hardly a... More

The Owl is a super little hotel with great staff in a terrific location just 3 minutes walk from the Leidesplein. Very close to the major art museums and a canal bus stop. The room was tiny, but I've heard that's the case with most rooms in Amsterdam. They could use better pillows I'll say, but for the money it... More

We have just returned from a weekend at the Owl hotel .This hotel is lovely. Very clean, tidy and quiet. It is just 1 minute walk from Leidsplein in a quiet street (behind the Marriot hotel) and 2 minute walk from the museums. Very convenient for sightseeing in Amsterdam. I have visited Amsterdam for 1 night with my brother and... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
