Choose this a two night stay based on the trip advisor reviews and found the rooms clean, well looked after and beds vet comfortable. Very easy to get to a find and simple to get to town on one of canal cruises. Breakfast was simple continental but perfectly ok and you could eat as much as you like. Very relaxed...

The Owl has the friendliest staff we have ever encountered. Within walking distance to the many attributes of Amsterdam, yet on a quiet side street. There is a lovely garden patio and small bar to meet/greet. We stay there anytime we are in Amsterdam.

Hotel is in the museum area and Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum are in walking distance. Lots of nice restaurants nearby - better than the ones near the 'tourist' part. Reception was very helpful and not intrusive. Room very clean and easy to access. Twin beds were pushed together but with a little re-arranging of bedside cupboards we moved apart!

We had booked 2 rooms in this hotel after a little research on the net and we were quite happy with the place. Rooms were of a decent size, was very close to the park and had a lot of small shops etc all around. Buffet breakfast at €9.50 each was strictly okay, but you cant expect much from a...

Fairly easy to find in a great location near "tourist central". We walked from the hotel all over. The room was very small with a smaller bathroom, but everything was clean and functional. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. There is no parking garage or lot in the area so we had a hard time finding a space...

A small hotel in a good location, close to tram stop, bus stop and Vondel park. The hotel room was a little tired with mismatched furniture, but clean enough. Reception very helpful with discount voucher for canal trip. A small garden area at the rear of the hotel, was pleasant. Transfer from airport by bus was cheap and easy, stopping...

We are about to pay our second visit to the Owl Hotel in Amsterdam and had NO hesitation in using it again because the standard is far above its "so-called" rating. The Staff were excellent, the location fantastic (right on the doorstep of easy travel around this beautiful city), the room was superbly comfortable and the Breakfast second-to-none! If you're...

I was looking to stay for a weekend at the end of a long trip so was not interested in a hostel. The brand name hotels were as expected very expensive so I looked at the smaller ones. The price still seems a little steep for what you get but that is on par with other hotels of similar nature....

We had stayed for 3 nights earlier this week.We had a twin-double room. It was a good size, with spacious en-suite. The hotel was very clean thorughout and the breakfast room looked out onto a quiet courtyard. The breakfast was very good, with a nice selection. We found the staff friendly and helpful, on arrival and during our stay. It...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
