No real complaints but a few things that were a little less than ideal though not a problem: single room was very small, mattress was not very firm, phone in room did not always work, not enough working electrical sockets in the room so I couldn't charge my phone and have the TV on at the same time.
The room itself was a little small but warm and clean, decent sized bathroom with shower and bath.
We didn't pre pay for the breakfast when booking but did pay the €14 each on the second morning and it was worth it, eat as much as you like, scrambled eggs, toasts, continental with good coffee.
Theres some useful vending machines in the reception area too although there is a Spar shop a 5 minute walk around the corner.
Taxi from the airport to the hotel was 15-20 mins and cost €57.
Walking from the hotel to centre of Amsterdam/Dam square took us around 20-30 minutes at a sightseeing pace.
Would definitely stay here again, good value for money and a peaceful location to escape too at the end of a busy day.
Staff is very friendly and welcoming, the room was clean. However, the place is not the newest and some parts of the furniture are quite worn. Still the prices during summer season are quite high (which unfortunately is the case for every hotel in Amsterdam, so the hotel is not to blame for this)
Service was great giving us advise on parking which saved 200 € by taking the car to a park and ride place.
And in general always smiling and making conversation.
The hotel is not new and modern but quirky and charming which my son wanted.
I was sorry there was not a/c the first night with 30 degrees but we had the window open. And it was surprisingly quit outside.
Also there were no fridge or coffee machine in the room. But we had a great stay and still enjoyed.
The continental breakfast was super too, and always being refreshed.
The hotel is also very central to various tourist attractions, as well as close to various tram lines.
We shall be back, to enjoy this lovely city.
