The hotel is located near the city's only Marriott (handy for giving instructions to taxi drivers) and has a bus stop and tram stop very close by. It is clean and comfortable. Our room was towards the back so was quiet as well. WiFi service was fine. Breakfast was well priced, good food and great coffee. It's not as decorated...

Stayed here for one night and loved the friendliness and the convenience. The rooms are basic but adequate and clean. Breakfast was fresh. Location wize, the Owl is close to the major museums, and within a walking distance from De Pijp, although a little further from central Amsterdam.

The hotel is well-located, clean, quiet and the front desk friendly and helpful but the room has only the most basic amenities and the breakfast is of minimal quality. There is no reason not to stay here and hotel prices in Amsterdam are generally high but the general area where the hotel is located has a number of similar (at...

An excellent location within easy walking distance of all the main places of interest. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were so helpful with advice on transport, local restaurants and places to visit and the breakfast was very good too.

Choose this a two night stay based on the trip advisor reviews and found the rooms clean, well looked after and beds vet comfortable. Very easy to get to a find and simple to get to town on one of canal cruises. Breakfast was simple continental but perfectly ok and you could eat as much as you like. Very relaxed...

The Owl has the friendliest staff we have ever encountered. Within walking distance to the many attributes of Amsterdam, yet on a quiet side street. There is a lovely garden patio and small bar to meet/greet. We stay there anytime we are in Amsterdam.

Hotel is in the museum area and Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum are in walking distance. Lots of nice restaurants nearby - better than the ones near the 'tourist' part. Reception was very helpful and not intrusive. Room very clean and easy to access. Twin beds were pushed together but with a little re-arranging of bedside cupboards we moved apart!

We had booked 2 rooms in this hotel after a little research on the net and we were quite happy with the place. Rooms were of a decent size, was very close to the park and had a lot of small shops etc all around. Buffet breakfast at €9.50 each was strictly okay, but you cant expect much from a...

Fairly easy to find in a great location near "tourist central". We walked from the hotel all over. The room was very small with a smaller bathroom, but everything was clean and functional. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. There is no parking garage or lot in the area so we had a hard time finding a space...

A small hotel in a good location, close to tram stop, bus stop and Vondel park. The hotel room was a little tired with mismatched furniture, but clean enough. Reception very helpful with discount voucher for canal trip. A small garden area at the rear of the hotel, was pleasant. Transfer from airport by bus was cheap and easy, stopping...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
