Quaint hotel on a quiet side street near the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. Superb breakfast choices with good variety and quality. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Comfortable bedding, no trouble with the Wi-Fi. We really enjoyed our stay

Loved our 5 night stay here. Very quiet street. Small room, tiny elevator, but typical of an Amsterdam hotel. What we really appreciated was the helpfulness and congeniality of the desk staff. In particular Peter gave us lots of great tips about close by restaurants and was so pleasant greeting us. Breakfast was good, breakfast staff very helpful. Very pleasant...

Very clean, pleasant room. Very affordable if you travel on a budget! I have spend my evening in the garden, listening to the wind rushing through the trees and found it to be such a quiet and relaxing location in a big busy city!

The hotel is in a nice and quiet area located about 10 to 15 minutes walking to the city center, the price was fair compared to other options in Amsterdam, the hotel is nice, comfortable and clean but a little old, a safe in the room was provided but I didn't use it since it didn't seem very safe, breakfast...

Location is good and room was clean, but that is about it! Hotel rooms in AMS are expensive but over Euro200 for an extremely basic / cold/ dated room. Breakfast amusing due to the number of "do not" instructions. This hotel really really needs a refurb.

This is a great choice of accommodation in Amsterdam. First glance at a map and I thought it was out of town but it's not- it's a hop, skip and jump from the Rijksmuesum and the Concertgebouw. Handy and pleasant walk to the canals. It's on a quiet street and there's a lovely little garden to enjoy the sun and...

This hotel is in amazing location. It's on a more residential street in the museum quarter well within walking distance of Stedelijk, Rijks, MoCo, and Van Gogh Museums. Also nearby is Pieter Cornelisz Hoofstraat, where you can find every luxury brand under the sun (Tiffany, Prada, Gucci, Chanel, Longchamp, Ralph Lauren, Cartier, and more). It's also one block away from...

We recently stayed in the Owl Hotel on a short visit to Amsterdam, location is very central, rooms a bit small but clean, staff super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious and has a great selection, terrace/ patio at the back catches the sun in the evening and is a great place to relax. Will stay again when we are...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
