This hotel was very adequate for our short stay. It was fairly quiet and although I was slightly worried about having a room next to the lift, the lift was not a problem. This hotel I think would suit the more mature traveler as long as you are fit and healthy enough to use a few stairs down into reception... More

Lovely hotel in a quiet street. I stayed at the 5th floor and had a nice view over other buildings nearby. The room itself was clean and comfortable. Breakfast is at the main floor en it was very good. In general I had a good stay. I will sure come here again. :)!

We were unsure about where to stay for our first visit to Amsterdam. Close to the nightlife and places to see whilst being slightly away from the noise of the city. We picked right with this hotel. We turned onto the street along the canal and both said this is lovely.... It was on such a quiet street. The welcome... More

Have just returned today from the Hampshire Hotel today from a 3 day break. Most reviews I read before are a fair reflection on what I experienced. My trip was taking my mum for a short break and her flying for the first time. I chose the interconnecting room to be sure I was close by to her and this... More

This was a very nice hotel, a little far from main attractions but still within walking distance. We were on the top floor with a nice view over the canal. The room was very clean and spacious if not a little warm but fans had been supplied. The bathroom was very well equipped including a two person shower. The only... More

This was a find- a spacious double room with king bed, canal view and breakfast included for under £80. The Prinsengracht is a great place to be day and night, nice eating places/bars but not overly noisy or crowded. We explored the whole centre of the city plus the Jordaan easily from here. The hotel is definitely older but with... More

This is probably my 3rd time staying here and as usual it was lovely. The breakfast was good, the staff is nice and the rooms are clean. The hotel is within walking distance to the teams and also to many restaurants and sites.

We stayed at the Hampshire hotel for 3 nights and was just what we were looking for. All the staff were friendly and helpful, all speaking very good English. Rooms are quite small but to be expected in a city hotel - certainly manageable and perfectly clean. The garden out the back is beautiful and great to relax in after... More

Having just returned from an early May Bank Holiday trip to Amsterdam I’m doing that rarest of things… taking the time to write a positive review. If you’re looking for what’s wrong with the Hampshire Hotel, Prinsengracht, then look elsewhere. So far as we are concerned, it is the tops! Why? Well, as the title of my review suggests, what... The rooms are really nice and spacious, so don't let the cramped basement reception put you off. We had one overlooking the Prinsengracht and the other overlooking the gardens and both were good. Staff friendly, showers excellent and beds comfortable. It is certainly central and the Canal is a quiet one. So why just 4 stars? Breakfast was ok but... More
