We stayed here for three nights in April. The hotel is on a quiet street and looks attractive from the outside. On the inside it is a little bit dated and could do with updating a bit, but it is very clean. Our room was on the top floor and had a lovely view on the Vondelpark. The room was... More

We were scared to death seeing rats on the premises when parking our bikes. No wonder because the Hotel made a neglected impression. Me and my girlfriend are very fond of Amsterdam but this was just too much. Next time not this Hotel!

I went here with my daughter for her 18th for a long weekend. We got the bus from the airport to the hotel which was fab and drops u off just round the corner. Room is basic but comfortable and spotless. We arrived before check in time the way our flights were but the hotel let us leave our suitcases... More

The surroundings of the hotel are very nice, very close to Vondelpark and Museumplein. My room was small but ok for Amsterdam standards and with a renovated bathroom. The hotel has an elevator, good for those traveling with large luggage. Good for the price!

I returned yesterday after a three night break at this hotel with my teenage son. We were very happy with our stay at the hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to please us. I asked if they had a hot chocolate sachet for the room for my son... More

Our first impression of Hotel Atlas was when we were checked in by the owner. He is very friendly, informative, and you can tell how much he really cares about the hotel and his guests. He has done many upgrades. Our room was a "garden" room with large windows. It was generally quiet, with only one night with noisy people... More

Quaint hotel, in a nice neighborhood. The staff was very helpful with whatever we needed. Behind the hotel is Vondelpark. We rented bikes from the hotel (which was very convenient for us) and rode all over the park and neighborhood. The museum quarter is about a five minute walk.

The photograph of the hotel is misrepresentative of the actual building. Hotel Atlas is only 1/3 from the left of the building pictured. The rest of the photo is of someone's beautiful house. Our room was 101- in the basement. It was tired, dated and damp. There were insects and the wardrobe stank. There was a box of anti damp under... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
