My stay at the Hotel Atlas Vondelpark was very enjoyable. It is located in a quiet neighborhood that is still withing walking distance to the museums and canals in Amsterdam. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It s a little bit on the older side (perhaps new carpets and paint may help a little) nevertheless it was very clean... More

I never saw any rats but hope they stayed outside in any event. Service was very good, bed comfy and breakfast just right. Comp'd coffee, tea and fruit. They could use an updating for sure but if you are looking for location and reasonable value, you could give it a try.

It seems that the hotel is old, the furniture is old, in some places you can see it really needs a renovation. It is situated close to the main museums but not so close to the city center (till Dam it is like 25 mins walking). But it is quiet outside at night and the staff is nice and helpful.

The hygiene of this hotel is very poor, we saw 2 rats in the garden going back and forth and that is not tolerable for us. The only thing that was good is the location close to museums and nice restaurants. A lot of pot smoking guests made us decide never to come back to this hotel. Low standards around... More

We chose this modest hotel because it was one of the lesser expensive options in Amsterdam and yet it was quite pricey for the low quality of the hotel. It's located in a lovely neighborhood right next to the Vodel Park, walking distance from the museum quarter and the center. Across the street, is a really nice coffee shop called... More

I stayed at the hotel with my friend for a couple of days, we love Amsterdam and return often to the city. This time area Vondelpark. The hotel is so so but we were surprised by so many of the guests blowing ..........not our league. But the worst of all we saw rats in the garden in the morning when... More

Dear Paola, Thank you for your valuable review. We are happy that you enjoyed Amsterdam, The Vondelpark as a park is a place where rats can stay. This problem has all our attention and we use the help of a professional to prevent the presence of animals on our property, unfortunately we are not able to prevent this up to... More

We stayed here for three nights in April. The hotel is on a quiet street and looks attractive from the outside. On the inside it is a little bit dated and could do with updating a bit, but it is very clean. Our room was on the top floor and had a lovely view on the Vondelpark. The room was... More

We were scared to death seeing rats on the premises when parking our bikes. No wonder because the Hotel made a neglected impression. Me and my girlfriend are very fond of Amsterdam but this was just too much. Next time not this Hotel!

I went here with my daughter for her 18th for a long weekend. We got the bus from the airport to the hotel which was fab and drops u off just round the corner. Room is basic but comfortable and spotless. We arrived before check in time the way our flights were but the hotel let us leave our suitcases... More

The surroundings of the hotel are very nice, very close to Vondelpark and Museumplein. My room was small but ok for Amsterdam standards and with a renovated bathroom. The hotel has an elevator, good for those traveling with large luggage. Good for the price!

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
