I enjoyed my stay at this great hotel. It's perfectly located at the center of the city. Walking distance to everywhere, the train station and all the places you want to see in town. The front desk staff helped me with every question. Map, directions, explanations and recommendations. The room was very clean and comfortable. On a personal note, as...

Stayed in a suite room in early February 2017. The view is outstanding: facing the center of the city. It is in the center of the city whereby tram is right in front of your window (the room was so quiet though), plenty of restaurants within several steps. The train station is approx 10 min walk. A bottle of wine...

A small, convenient, clean, and quiet hotel in the heart of Amsterdam. It was more expensive than I hoped, but worth the price. The hotel staff are professional and so very helpful. Walk from here to the wonderful National Maritime Museum, great restaurants, and the starting point for canal tours.

I have to say that this was mot the best experience. Yes, the staff was great and very helpful, good location, but after stated on the website that they have a spa and a fitness centre, it was also confirmed by the reservations department, i came to find NO spa, NO garden, and the fitness centre was pathetic. Depends what...

This hotel is in the heart of the city, waling distance from everything you could want to do. We came to the hotel directly from a European cruise, where we had to get off the boat at 7 am, so we arrived at the hotel at 7:30 am. The stated check-in time was not until 2 pm, but he hotel...

This hotel is aspiring to be something it was not built to be: a $400 USD per night hotel, when the dollar is very strong against the euro (i.e., it would be $450 or more at earlier exchange rate.) It has a small reception area, not really a lobby. The business model is to price it with its betters, but...

We stayed in the hotel on January 2017, when it was not tourist season yet. Hotel was ok, but the price was still expencive. We got an upgraded room, but I didn't like the view, which was straight to the rooms opposite of us. Due to this, we needed to have the certains on, if we wanted to change clothes...

Stayed here with a friend, meeting up with other friends who were spending a week in Amsterdam. Location was brilliant, at the bottom of Damrac near Dam Square, very handy for almost everywhere. Hotel spotless, service excellent however expensive accommodation for a weekend break. Would return if they had special offer.

Never expected to have this kind of service from a hotel that is part of Fairmont chain. Of course is not a 5 star hotel but the service and how it is is not good. It's impressive that you could see the mattress base. And the first room we had the bed was torture it had a hole in one...

The most positive point that can be made about this hotel is its central location on the vibrant Dam Square which is within 10 minutes' walk from the Central Station, with the tram station right at the door for access to anywhere in the city. In any case, the major tourist sites in the Old Town are all within easy...

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
