This is our second return to Swissotel for some years, after dismay experience staying in other hotel nearby. The location is just perfect to explore the city, only a stroll away from central station and right in the center. While the room is so spacious. Our room were pleasantly upgraded while taking our lunch recommended by Hotel staff. The hotel also allowed late check out which is great help to optimize our stay in Amsterdam and refresh before heading to the airport. We definitely will return back to this lovely hotel when visiting Amsterdam again.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the hotel and were every impressed.

The location of the hotel is very easy to find if you are coming from Amsterdam Centraal station or if you are coming from Schiphol Airport. When we arrived at the hotel my girlfriend and I was prepared (as much as we could be) given the coronavirus as we did not know how Holland was responding to the situation and whilst we were in Amsterdam we saw first-hand how the situation is changing.

Meanwhile everyone we met who worked at the hotel was polite, professional, helpful and friendly and they all spoke good English which was fortunate as neither my girlfriend and/or I speak Dutch. Our bedroom was a Junior Suite and we were on the fifth floor. The room was big with a huge and comfortable bed, the bathroom was excellent as there was a shower and a bath but we did not use the bath and yet there was plenty of hot water. The only criticism we both have was regarding the shower that in order to get in or out you have to use a step and there was no handrail to hold on to if the shower door had condensation which could be a problem least not for those with sight impairments and there was not a real hook to hang a towel on when in the shower.

Due to the coronavirus we were not able to eat in the hotel restaurant and many of the cafes, bars and restaurants had either closed or were closing earlier than normal. Therefore we bought food from the local supermarket and had it in our room (namely our evening meals and breakfasts) as there is a large supermarket nearby which is also cheap.

Many museums and art galleries were also not open and therefore we advise people to check before they go what is open, when it is open and you may get a refund if you have booked in advance but please be patient as many places are not operating as normal. The hotel was very central and handy for what we did and wanted including being near the trams and when on the trams ensure you buy a ticket before you travel and you touch in when boarding and touch out when getting off the trams.

All in all my girlfriend and I had a great time at the hotel and in Amsterdam and we both would like to thank all the staff we met during our stay for all you did and offered and hopefully one day we will be back to see Amsterdam and great city it is.

We arrived on Wednesday early afternoon and the were greeted by two lovely gentlemen on the Reception desk, they check us in and very kindly gave us a room which was ready (this was about 11:20ish). The room we had was a refurbished room on floor 5 (529) with twin beds, which was spacious, nice bathroom and tv was great with all channels on it. In the room you got teas and coffees, hairdryer, bathroom essentials, iron and board, safe... all sorts really which was brilliant!
The hotels position was fantastic, literally on Adam Square, over the way from Madame Tussaud’s and walking distance from all the main sites.
Every staff member was came across in the hotel was friendly and helpful and we can’t thank them enough for making our stay enjoyable. We can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend this hotel ☺️

Super chuffed after looking for ages I came across this hotel and managed to get a good deal just under £300 for 3 night stay . 4 star in Amsterdam in dam square you’ll be lucky to get cheaper . They provided balloons and a sweet treat in our room as it was my birthday . Such a nice gesture . Room was cleaned daily . You have a espresso machine and a kettle in room. There is also a mini bar and they provide you with slippers ,hairdryer and toiletries . Tv ( we didn’t use so cant comment ) breakfast was 17euros we didn’t have so can’t comment . Lovely little bar serves soups , salads and fresh pizzas . We only had drinks which were lovely . Good coffee good cocktails excellent service .
Also there is a gym in the hotel too , small but clean and covered everything . Running machine rowing multi weights bench , weights , yoga mats etc .
You are right in dam square , middle of everywhere . We walked daily to all
Museums . ( 30min max) such nice walks exploring . Highly recommend . We were only here for the weekend so we needed somewhere central.

This is a great location with all main activities- museums, galleries, shops, markets, restaurants, boat trips- all within walking distance. The team are very welcoming and allow early check-in if rooms are available which is always a bonus and the refurbished rooms are spacious and really well equipped. The groundfloor restaurant with a great selection for breakfast with lots of healthy and not so healthy options! We had room 520 which was very large and had a bath and shower.

This is in a great location right on The Dam square. We had suite as we were there for 4 days and the extra room was worth the cost.
I feel the hotel caters for overnight stayers rather than people staying for a number of days. Over all the service was ok, the only issue we had was you could hear the water running through the heated towel rail which was disturbing, we raised this wit the team and that was the last we heard from them. It never got fixed until our last nigh
Apart from that it was very good

I stayed at the hotel from 3/20 - 3/24. The location of the hotel was fantastic and within walking distance to/from the Centraal railroad station and DAM square. My room (215), had a view of the square and the statue. The decor was modern and the king bed was sumptuous. The windows were soundproof and the ambient sounds from the trams and vehicles were silenced. The front desk personnel was professional, attentive, and knowledgeable regarding the various forms of transportation to points of interest. The hotel was impeccable and adjacent to a variety of restaurants, cafes, and clothing stores. My experience was wonderful and upon my return to AMS, I will stay at the Swissotel. Thank you to everyone.

4 night stay in a Jr Exec Suite, great busy location on the dam but quiet inside. Tram stop directly outside, walking distance to central station (€6 from airport to central station, easy navigation). Room service for dinner one night, fair value. Breakfast is good but recommend arriving earlier to have your selection of food/drink (mimosas). Turn down service and nice touches were appreciated. Do recommend and would return! Thanks guys!

The reservation process on the Accor website, the location and the desk staff were all excellent, and helpful with directions and an airport taxi reservation. The rate was reasonable. Our 3rd floor room was clean and spacious with multiple lighting, seating and electrical outlet options; lots of pump bottles and packages of toiletries in the bathroom; and a comfortable bed. Our room was pretty quiet-I heard a neighbor in the hallway once, and a man yelling in the street below once, but those noises did not bother me.
The air quality was good, and I turned the HVAC blower fan on and off at times to keep the room between 73 and 77°F (I like it warm) and 50% humidity. There was also a portable fan on the desk. I did see a delivery of new chiller units while we were there, so you should call if you are concerned about the temperature.
The free Wi-Fi was adequate, and there were four complimentary bottles of water and a bowl of fresh fruit in the room, in addition to the items available for purchase in the mini bar.
It would’ve been nice to have another luggage rack and wash cloths in the room on arrival, but I did not bother to request them.
I would gladly stay at the Swissotel Amsterdam again, and recommend it to family and friends.
