After an early flight, we arrived at the hotel around 9:30am in the hope of leaving our luggage until check-in, however were pleasantly surprised when we were told that our room was ready as the previous occupants checked out early. Despite the hour, the receptionist couldn't have been nicer and we were soon checked in, paid City tax and the deposit for the TV remote (such a great idea, means its never lost and is always spotlessly clean) and got to see our small but immaculate room and balcony. Everything was clean, lovely white sheets and a comfy bed (very cosy for a couple, but perfect for our 3 night stay) with a fridge stocked with breakfast items (due to current restrictions, continental breakfast of brown and white bread, a croissant and crusty roll are delivered every morning to your room at your chosen time), hairdryer, safe, fan, towels, a kettle, coffee, tea, sugar, longlife milk and crackers, TV with cable channels and handiest of all, a wall socket with usb ports, perfect for charging our phones while using the hotel WiFi, which was fairly good. The rooms are small but perfectly furnished with everything you need, and the balcony was wonderful for watching the world go by. The stairs are steep, just like everywhere else in Amsterdam but there are seats in reception to catch your breath! We really enjoyed our stay in the Nadia Hotel and a lot of this was because of how welcome were were made to feel, the reception staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, we found them to be exemplary in every way. Perfect examples of this werewhen we had to get a printout of our PCR test for returning to Scotland after receiving an email in Dutch which one receptionist managed to translate for us, despite this not being her first language, and offering to print our results when they arrived. We didn't get them till quite late however and it wasn't until the next day, which was also the morning of our departure, when we asked if our results could be printed, It turned out that the same receptionist who checked us in was on duty but disaster, her printer wasn't working (and she had over 200 emails with enquiries about the hotel, waiting to be printed!) but hoped an engineer would arrive shortly and in the meantime asked us to send the emails we needed printed to her boss to see if his printer would work. Definitely above and beyond the call of duty! Luckily, it was still earlyish so we waited until 10:50pm (check out is 11pm) then went to reception to check out - the engineer was there - and the lovely receptionist sent our emails to be printed as the test copies - meaning we now had everything we needed. What a star! And thank you for the compliment about my perfume - I hope your mum likes it! Really look forward to another visit in the not too distant future as we really enjoyed spending my 55th birthday in your lovely hotel - and room 203 would be perfect!

The Nadia Hotel is a great value hotel with lovely staff in a great location. My daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights. We started in a twin room (308) but asked to move because of the noise from the street; trams, cars, emergency vehicles, which the hotel kindly accommodated. The new room (7) overlooked the canal and had recently been refurbished and felt like a very different experience but what we didn’t realise until we stayed the night was where it lacked traffic noise it gained in the volume of the church bells from Westerkerk. These chime very 15 mins 24 hours a day with the volume being loudest on the o’clock. My advice to anyone booking a room is to book a room at the back of the building and forgo the balcony and canal views if like me you are not a heavy sleeper. I also advise those looking for a 5 star hotel to do exactly that. The Nadia is not 5 star and nor does it pretend to be. It’s a great budget hotel that is clean and feels safe. As for the stairs, yes they are steep, but that’s all part of the experience of staying in a traditional building. All the buildings of this age have similar stair cases. A ruck sack is much easier to get up and down them than a suitcase.

Perfect place to stay in heart of Amsterdam if you're not looking for big chain hotel. Very eccentric building only a block from Anne Frank House. Extremely clean and great use of small space. Fresh bread and other breakfast items were a nice touch. Surprisingly quiet given its location. Luggage storage after checkout was perfectly convenient while we explored city before catching late afternoon train. We will visit again on our next overnighter.

It may seem a little small at first the rooms are pretty spacy. They allow you to leave your bags even if you have checked out and keep them safe. The staircase may be suprising for people who aren't awear of the dutch architecture. The hotel prices are good and its in a good centeral place in the city.
