The staff at the front desk were exceptionally kind and helpful. The hotel's central location made it easy to explore Amsterdam on foot and visit all the attractions I had on my list. The room itself was beautifully appointed and meticulously cleaned, providing a peaceful and comfortable respite from the bustling city outside. I felt totally safe as a solo traveler. The front door entrance was a bit confusing with the code bus I ended up just ringing the doorbell whenever I wanted to get in instead.

Great place lovely location and the staff were very helpful the rooms were clean and fresh and new looking but the best part were the beds so comfy and the bathroom had under floor heating. Downstairs had great space for working and relaxing with free coffee and tea facilities

We stayed for 3 nights, and it was enough.
The hotel is great located, walking distance for many interesting spots.
Rooms are simple, but nice. It didn’t have refrigerator and the A/C didn’t work.
They should improve the shower system, since it waste too much water and everything gets wet.
What was really disappointing is that house keeping was not included in the room rate, and you had to pay 30€ extra per day if you want someone to make your bed, take out the garbage, or change your towels.
The staff wasn’t really helpful. We asked for recommendations of places to have dinner or visit, and they couldn’t help us. They only said “I don’t know”.

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you found the hotel's location convenient and the rooms you like. However, we apologize for the inconvenience you faced during your stay. Thank you for your insight on the shower system; we'll see what we can do to improve this. We offer guests the ability to book housekeeping services on demand for a nominal fee. This ensures guests can enjoy an uninterrupted and sustainable stay. Otherwise, we're happy to deliver fresh towels to your door. Customer service is one of our top priorities, and we're sorry for falling short. We'll work to ensure a higher level of care is met. If you decide to give us another try, we'd love to show you a better stay.

Booked through booking.com on a full refund, they took our money, but when we cancelled they didn’t refund the full amount back, trying to blame Booking.com, which is absolute rubbish.
Even after booking, our reservation wasn’t confirmed as you need to download their App and upload a picture and passport details of every guest, which ridiculous.
After reading all the reviews, I’m glad we cancelled.
There are much better hotels for similar money in Amsterdam, we booked into the College Hotel.
As everyone states, avoid at all costs.

We had a wonderful 6 night stay at the Sonder Amsterdam. Steven (and crew) were EXTREMELY helpful and attentive. We initially chose Sonder because of the location and that couldn’t have been better. It’s located just off Vondlepark on the edge of the busy tourist area and very close to the museum quarter. We walked everywhere, but you could just as easily take the bus or tram as the stop is within meters of the hotel. Initially, we were a bit confused by some of the reviews. From what we were told, the Sonder group has (recently) taken over the previous hotel and has been slowly renovating it. That being said, there are a few minor things we noticed. For example, in our room (343 – 4th floor) the curtains definitely needed to be replaced and there was an old stove pipe hole in the wall that was just stuffed with some crumpled up paper – but neither of those were major issues for us and the staff mentioned that those would be taken care of with the continued renos. One other minor issue was the fact that other guests weren’t very courteous when closing their room doors – as it was quite loud when the doors slammed shut (our suggestion was to put up signs in the hallway reminding guests to be courteous). That being said, we were fairly spoiled and had the entire floor to ourselves for the majority of our stay. Worth noting is that if you are on an upper floor you do have to walk up several flights of (steep) stairs. We are in our late 40’s/early 50’s and it wasn’t too bad for us but we are fairly fit and only had carry-on sized bags when we arrived/departed. All-in-all we would stay here again, and would recommend it for someone visiting Amsterdam for a few days and up to a week (provided you are ok with being in a fairly typical European sized room).

Sonder Park House is a lovely hotel about 20 minutes from central via tram, or a 40 minute walk if you don’t mind that. We really enjoyed our stay in Sonder Park, the staff were really welcoming and helpful to any questions or needs. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable with a brilliant view looking out onto Vodelpark. You can request items like new towels or coffee etc at the front desk or through the app. Everything about this hotel and stay was enjoyable. Perfect location for walks through the park to enjoy the nice winter sun. Also, we enjoyed eating out at the Foodhallen which was about 15 minute walk from the hotel. I will be a returning guest to Sonder park and recommend this hotel.

My wife and I had a very nice time staying at the Sonder Park hotel. The property is a good choice for travelers wanting to be close to the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum. The staff were were very helpful. The room was good, comfortable bed, tea and coffee maker provided, and very clean. The shower conforms to the European indifference to shower curtains/doors so one does end up with some water all over the floor when showering. Go figure. The air conditioning control was either malfunctioning or we didn’t know how to use it because it would turn itself on and off at random times and default to the coldest temperature. The hotel has a lovely garden area with tables and chairs which we enjoyed visiting but in general seems underutilized. There is a small bar in the lobby with complimentary coffee and tea and limited selection of drinks for purchase. Our only disappointment was with the lack of breakfast options in the immediate neighborhood, and the hotel does not have any kind of food service either. There are a couple of cafes a few blocks away but they do not open for breakfast until 9:00. There is a good coffee shop around the corner. We picked up some fruit and other breakfast items at the Museumplein location of the Albert Heijn supermarket and enjoyed a breakfast picnic in the hotel garden. It would be nice if the hotel provided refrigerators and microwaves in the room.

Great location next to beautiful park and quality food and retail areas, especially if you want a quiet stay away from the crowd. The rooms vary on size from spacious king suite to tiny. I have trouble with stairs so I was disappointed I booked an elevator hotel and find it has been out of service for months and only allowing luggage transport. The bathroom sink/shower is located far from toilet so that is inconvenient. The staff was helpful with questions but no help getting luggage up the front stairs into building. The design is charming but almost everything was broken. Safe had to be replaced, mini fridge sitting on ground and didn’t work, hair dryers were sticky, towel hooks broken off wall, sink didn’t drain. So because I don’t like to deal with those things I would not stay again. This hotel has a lot of potential but needs work

I went there on a business trip and stayed 1 full week to the hotel.
I arrived late and so it was not possible to do it check in since I didn’t receive the link to do it prior to my arrival (company booked). After discussion I got the keys to my basement (literally stayed in the basement) and the room didn’t have any good lights and as I was nearly underground I couldn’t open the windows properly: nice smell of humidity!
On the next day I realised that the rooms were not cleaned (you need to pay extra fee for that).
There is no breakfast options (the reception told us to go to a bakery) but there is complementary tea and coffee throughout the day.
You add to that the nice extra smell of weed in the hallways and you have a perfect stay (ironic!)
The only good thing about this hotel is the location which is quite good and surrounding areas with options for dinner!

Your honest review is appreciated. We're sorry to hear your stay fell short of expectations. We do our best to send email reminders to check in online before arriving at the property for a seamless check-in, and we apologize that this wasn't the case. While we don't provide daily housekeeping, you can always request fresh linens and consumables to be delivered to your door or schedule a room cleaning for a fee. We have a zero-tolerance policy for smoking and apologize for the inconvenience of a smell in the building, as we don't allow that. If you're willing to give us another chance, we'd love to show you a better stay.

Our room was terrible. I had hoped we’d look over Vondelpark, but our room was right on the street on the -1 floor, so the park looked over us. We never wanted to open the blinds because people could see right in. People on the street were loud and disruptive when we were trying to sleep, and it was disconcerting that they were literally just a few feet away from us. Our room was also so hot that we couldn’t sleep one night. The front desk gave us a fan which helped, but it was not a great solution. The shower was awful too. The rainfall shower head got water everywhere so our bathroom floor was always soaked. Even with towels down, we squished in to brush our teeth because the floor was so wet. After just two days days, our whole room smelled musty.
The location was great to get to museums and the Concertgebouw and the front desk staff was polite, which is why we gave it a 2. But especially for how much we spent here, it was such a disappointing stay.

Your candid feedback is important to us. We're sorry you were disappointed in your stay. The rooms are randomly assigned unless you book directly through our site you can see which floor you're on. We're sorry your stay was disrupted by noise. Our team is always happy to deliver a white noise machine or earplugs to alleviate unwanted sounds. They definitely clean the rooms between guests. The extra fee is if you want housekeeping visits during your stay, it's thirty euros.

Not sure, however the location isn’t far from the tram stop “leidseplein”. If you take tram 12 from Amsterdam central station and ride all the way to stop leidseplein you can comfortably walk to the hotel. Even with some suitcases.

No, they do not have any laundry services in-house. The front desk was able to direct us to a drop-off laundry that's a 10 minute walk away.
