I arrived on a thursday afternoon, the receptionist was VERY helpful! I received ALOT of useful info with map and tram info etc. Breakfast was nice, coffee/tea included. HOWEVER!! Be sure to ASK the room cleaner for CLEAN towels! the first 2 days was fine, but when she cleaned my room, she DIDN'T change the sheets and the towels she...

Like someone else who has written a review for this hotel, we were staying in room 20 of this hotel on the ground floor and it was not a pleasant experience at all. The room looked like it was used to make cheap adult films with a wall of mirrors along one side and unidentified stains on the walls and...

Booked a last minute deal on Thomas cook website so weren't exactly expecting a 5 star. On arrival we checked in and were told we were on the third floor. Thankfully there was a working lift because the stairs were so steep. The room was clean and pleasant, if a bit small. It may look well decorated on the photos...

Our room (room 20) lied on the first floor of the hotel (ground level). It was not carpeted and lay right next to the hotel's main corridor which was tiled. This made sure that everyone walking could be heard in the room. Because the breakfast area lies opposite room 20, the clatter of cutlery is heard from 8 in the...

In general, this is a good hotel. The room is quite space as well as the bathroom. The bed sleeps comfortable too. If there is more choice of breakfast, it will even be better.

The pics you see on line do not show the dirt and mold in the rooms. When I got there I wished I had paid a bit more and stayed somewhere else. The people that work there are scary!!! I didn't want to complain to much because I didn't want to get robbed. The beds don't had real mattresses on...

The hotel is not worth the rate they are charging. It is about a 1 star hotel or a hotel but goes for a rate of minimum 120 Euro per night. This hotel is NOT worth the money as you can find a much better hotel in a better location for the same price. Keep looking! Our room was so...

Initially booked to stay at the Hotel de Paris we were bumped to here due to a dubious booking problem. Better location than that hotel anyway, and looked cleaner with more pleasant staff. We had a 3 bed room, on the first floor. We used the stairs but a lift was available (and was working) The room was clean and...

I stayed there with a friend, and overall the hotel was good, centrally located. The room was small, but warm and equipped with a tv and wifi (though you had to pay for it). We thought that the staff was not very friendly, but we came to the conclusion that Dutch in general are not very communicative. No problems at...

basically the hotel is not bad, unless you decide to look at the walls and doors that definitely need to be repaired. it looks more like a 2star than a 3star hotel, but it's located pretty close to the main square and even closer to the bars and clubs area. the staff did not seem very nice in the beginning,...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
