Detailed Reviews
Have stayed here 4 years ago so I booked before reading the reviews and I can honestly say I was dreading the stay there.
Arrived at the hotel at teatime, from the airport bus 397 takes you there 4 min walk from the bus station. Checked in no issues, could see the changes, there used to be a lounge area which is now a bedroom, 3 nights tourist tax was €30. We had a room on the 3rd floor, I booked basic b&b, the room had been refurbished. Was ok size, shower worked perfectly, hot water and good power, tea and coffee making facilities too.
Breakfast was the usual continental breakfast, cereal bread/toast, fruit croissant yoghurt, coffee and juices. It was what we were expecting having visited Amsterdam several times already.
We left our luggage there on day of departure and it was €2 per bag, cheaper than central station at €7
All the staff were lovely and welcoming and we had a lovely stay

Excellent location to anywhere you want to go in Amsterdam. If you’re mainly planning on using the room as a place of rest then it is perfect based upon its location. We were in a small double and it is small. We were using the room as a place to rest and sleep which meant that the room suited us. However you can’t open the bathroom door fully because it hits the bed so that should give an idea of how small the room is. Not necessarily a negative for us but may be for others. We had a pleasant stay for 3 nights with friendly staff but sleep was restless due to thin walls and outside noise. Staff were very accommodating at check in and check out for looking after our bags whilst we wondered around the local area before accessing our rooms and heading for our flight.

I stayed here for 3 nights from the 11th of Jan. we were greeted by lovely hotel staff, and given a room on the 2nd floor. Now the room was small and you were unable to store luggage easily but as it was just a base it was perfect for what it was. The room was lovely and warm & there was tea/coffee facilities. The bathroom could do with being updated as it looks outdated & a bit dark/dingy but the shower was powerful and worked well.
All in all we’d stay here again for a few nights!!

I recently was booked to stay at your hotel on the 30th of December to 2nd of January, due to the poor standard of the room we did not stay and had no choice but to leave and stay in a different hotel. Prior to checking in we ordered an additional service which was supposed to be ready on our arrival which was a bottle of wine, bunch of flowers and rose petals for £38.32. when arrived in the room there was no wine or flowers. we briefly left the room to find an alternative hotel as we were not happy of the standard of the room or your hotel and on our return to get our luggage and check out the wine had arrived but still no flowers, we then left the hotel and checked out without touching the wine.
When i emailed about a refund of the additional service and the price of the hotel due to not staying in the hotel at all i did not receive a reply back.
DO NOT STAY HERE ITS DISGUSTING !!!

+1
We were given room 341 dirty, holes in walls, ripped carpet, questionable electrics, smashed wall mirror with dangerous sharp edges. Room next door being renovated so drilling and walls shaking.
I was travelling with children and complained And was moved to room 241 shabby but new beds , carpet and bathroom so no bedbugs at least !
The lifts open directly into open stairwell and although safety barrier on 3rd floor nothing on 2nd floor incredibly dangerous risk of falling straight down the stairs.
Communal áreas full of tools new furniture etc garden totally full of rubbish as was hallway to breakfast room. Felt like we were staying in a building site.
Dirty corridors with exceptionally shabby paint work and corridor walls with multiple holes in walls
Despite reassurances from hotel workmen stopped at 5pm one night drilling at 6pm when we returned and this continued until 9pm when hoovering started !!
Also charged €6 to store luggage when website claims its free queried It when we asked to leave luggage on checkout and staff just laughed and said it should have been updated on website and we didn’t have to pay if we didn’t want to! ? Website not updated or staff making extra cash ?
Complaint has gone into booking.com
€547 for 4 nights was outrageous for shocking accommodation No way is this hotel currently worth its 3* or its charges.

So, in my experience, finding a hotel in the 16th century buildings of Amsterdam that have two double or queen beds for a family is near impossible. There just isn't the space in the buildings in the central areas seemingly. So this was a solid find for our family of 4. Rooms have two beds that sleep 2, pretty good space. Hotel is in awesome location on a quiet street with plenty of restaurants, shopping within minutes, and a tram stop about 100 yards away. Can get to hotel direct with suitcases from train station without a transfer.
Hotel breakfast was strong, with a variety of pastries, pancakes fresh cooked, veggies, cheeses, meats, cereals, espresso machine, juices, etc.
Staff was extremely nice and helpful is on-site 24/7. We couldn't hear a peep from other guests in our room nor really from the street.
Would recommend! Some of the older reviews seem to be reviewing a un-remodeled, different hotel than what we experienced in 2024.

We were in Amsterdam in a combination of holiday, and I was to teach a workshop. The hotel is in a nice area and was in walking distance to the workshop venue. The rooms are quite small but ok for an older hotel. The staff was in general very nice and helpful. But – and there is a big but – the walls are paper thin and you can literally hear what they are talking about next door. Unfortunately, we had a neighbor that set the alarm clock very early in the morning and had it on snooze every 5 minutes for an hour each day! It ruined my sleep completely and I mentioned it to the staff who (probably) said it to them but with no effect the first two nights ☹ First on the 3. night did they only let it ring 3 times.
The hotel is used by many guests over the weekend who go to party in Amsterdam which also makes it a bit noisy. I would have given the place 4 stars if the problems with the “neighbor” had been solved by the staff alternatively a noise free room was offered.
To give more stars than 3, the rooms have to be better sound isolated and bigger, and the breakfast has to be updated with a bigger variety of foods as well as more healthy choices.

Great centeral hotel. What a beautiful scenic neighbourhood the hotel was situated in. Nearby the lots of restaurants and bars shops etc. The hotel itself we found suited us perfectly. Lovely size clean rooms with modern bathrooms. Off a quiet street so no outside noise. The breakfast buffet was great and included pancakes to order too. Lots of choice. We would recommend staying here and staff were very helpful and booked us a canal cruise.

Hotel is well located and main areas of Amsterdam are only a 10-15 minute walk away. Use of the tram isn't too useful as you'll walk most of the way the way to town for it anyway. The receptionist was really nice and welcoming and happy to help.
The hotel is very basic and could do with a revamp, although it isn't bad for the price you pay. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. The selection was very slim and we struggled to stay full enough until lunch.

Not only is De Looier perfectly situated in the heart of the 'Jordaan' area, it excels in service. Hotel Manager Amra heads a small team of the friendliest, most helpful professionals. The rooms are clean and complete and good value for money. Highly recommended.

Hi, I suppose it depends on your individual needs really, they have a lift that works and the doorways are fairly wide, other than that, like most accommodation in Amsterdam the stairs are quite steep.
è disponobile un bus nn ricordo il numero di linea cmq si prende nei pressi dell'hotel e costa 5 euro
