The staff were the only good thing about this hotel. We stayed in a quad room, one of the windows boarded up, unclean, very dinghy, broken safe (of which was solved by putting a new safe on top of the old one), unhygienic bathroom - saw and was bitten by bugs both in the shower and in bed, broken shower...

If you've booked I'd advise to cancel, when we arrived our first impression from being in the lobby was that it was a bit rundown, it definitely could do with decorating, the room was for the most part clean, although the toilet was a little grubby was also missing a large chunk of the ceramic lid, the floors were extremely...

Just back from a two night stay , as you walk into reception it's just full of cardboard boxes , an old tv on the middle of the floor and stuff covered in dust sheets. We arrived a bit early for check in and asked can we leave our bags in storage and were told they don't have any so...

From the moment we approached the front door we realised we had made a mistake booking here, had we not paid in advance we would of stopped somewhere else. Glad it was only 2 nights we were stopping. There was building work going on in the lobby that we were not informed about, the whole place is tatty, unclean with...

As seen in the pictures the hotel is basic & could do with some renovation being in quite an old building, but other than that the room was very clean, as well as the bathroom (which I'm very picky about). Room was perfect size for a couple although bathroom was a little small, but done the job as a bathroom...

The staff are for the most part great which is why it is so unfortunate to have to write such a bad review. The hotel was listed as a 3 star, recommended by British Airways and the pictures of the hotel looked fairly good. The truth was that upon arrival, we had to negotiate the two stained single beds that...

Amsterdam in general is quite expensive but we paid €360 for a 3 night stay, the room was very basic the carpets were permanently stained, under the bed was filthy and clearly hadn't been cleaned in a long time, our mirror was broken in the corner and left sharp edges that you could of sliced your hand open on, a...

Hotel isn't the most modern but there are worse places to stay in Amsterdam. My room was on the first floor, had what we needed like clean fresh towels and toilet roll everyday, also we forgot to bring an iron but the hotel happily supplied us with one free of charge (ironing board included). Our room was clean, always warm...

Stayed here for 3 nights in October. Looked through the reviews and don't understand why people are saying its dirty and terrible? We had a great stay. Staff were very friendly and went out their way to help you out. Room was spotless and got cleaned everyday. Breakfast was good too. Only a 15-20 minute walk to Dam Square. Will...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
