We stayed in one of the Spacious City Suites, it was absolutely beautiful and the hotel arranged for us to be allocated a bath as requested. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the housekeeping team kept it looking spotless throughout our stay. All the staff were super friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was okay but not amazing - some extra options for fresh fruit or gluten free bread would have been ideal. Would definitely stay here again.

From check in through check out, we had another nice stay here. The bed is comfy, room spacious, super nice shower and lovely service from the whole team. Location is great as near museums and bars & restaurants but quiet enough for a good nights rest after exploring the city. Will be back soon!

This is a decent upper mid-range hotel. It has some strengths: excellent location in the centre of town, a decent breakfast, quiet rooms with double glazing and a comfy bed. But it has a number of issues - my room wasn’t properly cleaned when I arrived, with dust all over the floor and desk, and when I asked them to clean it they didn’t do so. Decor is a little dated and tired. Check-in was embarrassingly slow -as someone was being trained. The big light in my room didn’t work and when I complained they said that I wasn’t turning it on properly. I tried every combination, no success. A screaming child on my floor woke me up at 6am and continued to scream for an hour. I sympathise with the parents, but when I complained to reception they basically said there was nothing they could do. They were defensive whenever I raised something I wasn’t happy about them (I’m not a serial complainer - see my many other reviews). Breakfast on one day was chaotic, with too few staff and the young man trying to cope looked like he was about to have a nervous breakdown. Overall, it’s not a bad hotel, but they don’t have any quality checks and haven’t trained staff to listen to their guests rather than rebutting issues they raise. Disappointing - did not meet my expectations from reading previous reviews.

We stayed at The Albus Hotel for 4 nights over the Easter weekend. We chose this hotel based on the modern look of the rooms online and it’s walking distance proximity to the main tourist sites of Amsterdam. We were checked in fairly quickly to the hotel and given what we were told was a “quiet” room on the first floor. The room itself is compact but this wasn’t unexpected for a European capital city. There was a double bed, a chair and a small desk. There were also two windows in the room that looked out onto a parking area. The bathroom was small and was a wet room style and so the shower didn’t have a door. The room included a floor sweeper to move any excess water back toward the plug hole. I found this to be a bit of a pain having to sweep water every time the shower had been used. Despite being told this was a “quiet” room we found it be to be pretty noisy in the mornings and afternoons. The room would shake any time a neighbouring room closed their doors and similarly, we could hear stomping of feet from above. I appreciate the building is old and there’s a limit to what can be done about soundproofing but this wasn’t exactly a cheap hotel at nearly €300 a night. On our first full day when we returned to the hotel our room key didn’t work. We had to go back down to the lobby to have the key card rescanned. It seemed like this was a fairly common problem. We didn’t make much of the facilities within the hotel, there’s an ice machine by the stairwell and a very small bar next to the restaurant, Senses. The location of the hotel is excellent and is within a 15 minute walk of all of the major tourist sites. We never took a cab or public transport as everything was so close by. There’s also a huge amount of bars and eateries in the area to try. As good as the location is I would likely book another hotel in the area on my next stay in Amsterdam. For the price (elevated by the Easter holiday) I didn’t feel like the hotel represented particularly good value.

very good location on the other hand for the price it's not terrible: small room power cut request not honored security from 8 p.m. to access our room unfriendly staff. Bad experience. Bad attitude. Make an effort to a stranger.

Love love love this hotel. Excellent customer service. We felt so welcomed and the staff are really kind. The rooms were very clean, the bed was so comfy. The bathroom was very modern. Great views from the top floor. Only downside was the lift broke while we were there so we had to climb the stairs to the top. However they promptly fixed the lift so it was working the next day. We loved our stay at The Albus.

We checked into the Albus and were pleasantly greeted by staff. They told us the room would be ready a little later. They then had an extremely helpful person Martijn come over. He was so incredibly helpful. He suggested restaurants, tours and other activities. What an enormous help. He even made us a reservation for a Covid test. This was all before we even got into our room. The room.is extremely functional, modern design and very comfortable. Next time I come back to Amsterdam I’ll just have to consider what we want to do, but where we’ll stay is definitely going to be at the Albus. I don’t normally write reviews, but I don’t normally get this type of fantastic service. I highly suggest this city center gem. Thanks, Dave W. New York

Hotel was nice, rooms were spacious, had a coffee machine which always helps, with all the toiletries. Staff were very friendly. Location was great as well, only 20 mins walk from Central Station. Lovely eateries around the area. We did not have breakfast there as there are a lot of places to eat out. Check out was at 2pm as I booked directly with them. This really helped. I will definitely book here the next time i come over to Amsterdam.
