Hotel was situated a 5 minute walk from the Rijksmuseum, so a good walking distance from the museum area. Staff were nice; breakfast was average; and rooms were clean and nice enough for what you pay. Only issue was despite having a free safe in every room our one did not work.

I was travelling alone so I didn't care very much where I stayed. I booked the hotel based on some good reviews and price. Personally, I'd not call this a 3 or 4 star hotel as it's sometimes advertised. I'd call it a 2 star hotel. I went for a double room (47), good enough for me. The room was... More

We have stayed at this hotel in three occasions and this is the first time I can really rate it. It is a simple and yet cozy hotel at 5 minutes from the Van Gogh museum and the Heineken factory. it is right in the heart of the city and all you need is to hop in the cable cars... More

Upon arriving we also did the Central Station, followed by tram no 16, route. Woman alone struggling with a suitcase and hand bagage was not that pleasant. When I had to go via Schiphol to visit Keukenhof, I found the bus no 197 that stop only a block away. So much easier and also much cheaper. When using it from... More

Pro's of using this hotel: -Walking distance to museum quarter, vondelpark and central Amsterdam. - Budget hotel where you get what you paid for. -Don't worry about being robbed on the street, just leave your cash in your room and get it taken from there! Cons of using this hotel: - Money taken from both of our zipped bags in... More

Me and my partner stayed here for 3 nights as part of an easyjet city break package and we paid £90 each for our hotel and flights included. When arriving at the hotel we had issues from the start, firstly the keycard didn't work so we had to get this sorted. But the real problems started when we got back after our first day out in Amsterdam. We only took the cash we need for the day and left the rest of the cash along with the change... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
