We stayed for 2 nights here. We use Ibis a lot and it's nice to see more Ibis Hotels in Amsterdam. We took the tram to and from the hotel on arrival and departure - only because we had luggage with us. Otherwise, it's a 20 minute walk to the start of the city (Red Light District). If you are not feeling fit enough, you can walk 5 minutes to the Metro or tram (both stops are called Waterlooplein). We were checked in quickly and also given a welcome pack. This is a nice touch for anyone who is coming to Amsterdam or The Netherlands for the first time. The room was of usual Ibis standard, clean bathroom, spacious shower, and a comfortable bed. I loved the power cube where you can use multiple sockets for charging appliances with a power cable, or a USB cable. Very handy! We didn't have breakfast here as we had made plans for brunch at a bar I had vouchers for. If you are looking for somewhere outside the city, but not too far away, this hotel is the place for you.…
As soon as we arrived at the hotel the staff were lovely, checked us in the room, got a map out and explained where everything is, explained all the meal times and was extremely helpful. We ate in there a few times and the food was very nice, especially the buffet breakfast. Every time we wanted a taxi, they booked it for us without any problems. The room was big, with very comfy bed and had an amazing view of the canal outside the bedroom window. I've never stayed in a hotel where every single member of staff are so nice. I would highly recommend and will definitely stay here if we come again.
Hi This is Gordon Kennedy I stayed at the hotel last summer and I stayed in October, I thought the hotel was great although it was different as last time was put on the 2nd or 3rd floor and this time was put on Ground Floor, I was ok with it, the room was clean and the service was great however I thought charging 17.50 euros for Breakfast for expensive for either cooked or continental I knew a café in the centre which cost only 10.00 euros for toast, bacon and eggs which is far more reasonable than the hotel price anyway I thought the staff were great and attentive, I'm sorry I cant be back this summer because of the lockdowns I hope to be back next year very much. I'll miss Amsterdam this year anyway thank you so much.
The hotel is basically connected to the central station which is great especially if come or leave early/late!! The view from the rooms is amazing and just walk 3 mins from the hotel you can take either the hop on hop off bus OR boat. The Anne Frank house is about 15 mins walk from the hotel. The breakfast is great, one can easily take a croissant and banana for a lunch too, and I ate dinner here both my evenings I stayed there and the food was great!!! And the (((cute))) bartenders can make great cocktails too. HOWEVER, the room is really small. I'm glad I stayed by myself and just for two days because two people and one normal sized suitcase would be too much for that room. Otherwise nice bed, good bathroom and there is room to hang up outerwear (great plus for me). I would stay here again, but then most probably by myself or a very close friend.…
As the title say's "not for us". The hotels does have some good points. Staff are very polite and attentive. Check in and out smooth, also help with directions and knowledge of Amsterdam perfect. Bar is a nice space, chilled and relaxed, apart from last day due to corona virus we weren't allowed in. No fault of hotel. We got a taxi from central station to hotel, but no need, we walked back in 15 mins along water. Now for us the down side. Room was tiny!! Couldn't even pass each other at the foot of the bed. Bathroom is a pod, actually not a bad size. One plastic chair to sit on. I'm not one for lying in a bed when returning to room. Booked a canal view, but we were on the 6th floor and could only see canal if I leant over table on top toes. (Paid extra for this) room was clean though and towels replenished daily, bed was a metal frame and creaked every time you rolled over. Location was disappointing! A good 15/20 mins walk to main attractions. The walk is pleasant but I've stayed 3 minute walk from centre before which made this a big down side. The street which the hotel is on is so long and hotel virtually at the end. In a nutshell I personally would not return as I could get better for the money, but most seem to love the hotel. Definitely person preference on my behalf but not necessarily a bad hotel.…
