The rooms are quite basic and clean, but it's the best you will get for this price at the location. The location is great, and you can walk just about anywhere. You are right in the heart of the city at the city center. There's a 24 hour tuck shop right on the ground floor, so you can pick up...

Just back home after a 4 night stay in this hotel with my 24 year old daughter. The hotel was just what we wanted. The room was plenty big enough, clean and well-appointed. Breakfast set us up well for the day, and we also tried the bar which had excellent service. The front desk were helpful and provided a kettle...

Was here in August it was probably the cheapest hotel we could get in the centre of Amsterdam. It is right over the train station so good location but can be quiet noisy (didn't bother us). No breakfast here but tonnes of cafes around that do lovely breakfasts. Location was perfect cycled or walked everywhere no taxi needed. Room was...

The location of this hotel is ideal - right next to the train station, and within a 5 minute walk of central Amsterdam. The bedrooms are small and the bathrooms are shower rooms, not baths. The sound from the train station could be heard from the bedroom however, it did not continue into the night so it didn't really have...

Great location , stayed in room on 2nd floor but it backs on to the rail station which when the window is open you can hear the trains all night and quite annoying when trying to have a lay in , didn't have any facilities like kettle etc okay hotel altogether .

Although a 3 star hotel found it to be quite good. Were on top floor with a superb view of the river and A'dam Lookout. Very clean room, bed sheets changed during our stay. Although trains were passing just underneath our room we never really bothered by their noise, actually not sure if they work during the night as never...

Excellent location. Friendly helpfull staff. Nice clean room. Right next to station for easy airport transfer. Great location for restaurants and bars and also canal cruises. Request a high floor so you can enjoy the view.

Spent three nights at the Ibis Central. Found it to be very convenient to railway station and all other attractions which are all within walking distance. The room was small but comfortable. It faced the front which made it a bit noisy so maybe a room at the back of the building would be better. I also missed tea making...

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

“We had a room facing the street on the 7th floor ( odd numbered rooms ) the view was very good, I understand that some rooms overlook the station platforms, which would be ok with us also but others had an internal view which we would not like so when ordering your room remember this”
