Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

Recently stayed here for a long weekend break and had a lovely relaxing stay. The room size was decent (we came to Amsterdam for the sightseeing, not to stay in a hotel room for the whole weekend), very comfy bed, clean bedroom and bathroom, great shower (the only very small complaint I would make would be the size of the shower towels!! .. but this isn’t the end of the world. The other thing that did disappoint me was the fact that all towels in the bathroom were changed on a daily basis, despite being hung up.. I thought the general rule for places like this was to leave towels on the floor if you wanted them changing and hanging up if not...?). The location was perfect, very close to the central station- arrived at a Schiphol, straight on a train, 2 minute walk and you’re at the hotel! Despite our room being DIRECTLY above the train line, the sound proofing in the room was great- could hear the trains with the windows open, but close them, and can barely hear anything (also the trains are much less frequent at night, so didn’t hear a thing!). The breakfast was plentiful- a good selection of breads, cheeses, granola, fruit, a few hot breakfast items (scrambled and boiled eggs, sausages and beans), etc. - we’re not overly fussed by a cooked breakfast anyway, so the lack of hot items didn’t bother us as there was plenty of other lovely things to choose from. The check in was very easy- we were greeted by the friendly staff as we walked through the door who checked us in quickly. We had a very early flight the day we arrived, so arrived at the hotel quite early, we were told that we could leave our bags in a communal room with other guests bags, this didn’t bother us too much - took our valuables out, and just have to trust that other guests are as trustful as yourself. All in all a great stay! Yes it’s a little pricey, but don’t forget where you’re staying! It’s a great location, we didn’t have to use any public transport whilst there (so saved pennies that way) - yes we did a lot of walking, but that is to be expected in a city like Amsterdam anyway.

I get it’s in the most central part of Amsterdam right by the station but is it really worth the money? Room was small and dirty. We asked to change room and there was no problem only to find an even smaller (clean) room. Water costs about 3€ at the reception when you walk 1 minute from the door and find it half the price. We were comfortable but I will not be coming back.

Went to the ibis with group of friends. Great location next to central station which offers many modes of transport to dam square. Rooms are basic they dont have kettle or iron you ask for them at reception. Would stay there again due to location

Ideal location within walking distance of all main Amsterdam attraction. Really cool and quirky lobby area with a chilled out atmosphere. We checked in online so was very quick and easy when we arrived and speedy checkout service too. Rooms are basic for the price but this is central amsterdam. Staff very helpful, a couple we were going with had to cancel due to a family bereavement but the hotel dealt with it very well and kindly refunded the money. Would stay again and would definatley recommend!
