The views of the Amstel River and the accommodations are so lovely that you may never want to leave. Staying incredible 4-star Eden Hotel Amsterdam, renovated in 2021, is a guarantee of happiness. All of the attractions for which you came to Amsterdam may be found in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. However, with such a wide range of restaurants, a 24-hour food market, and a true Tokyo-style listen bar, you would not need to leave the hotel to enjoy Amsterdam’s vibrant city life.

Eden Hotel Amsterdam boasts a prime location that guests consistently applaud, as it affords them effortless access to local attractions and transit. The staff is often celebrated for their friendliness, although their service can sometimes be hit-or-miss. While the hotel’s cleanliness and comfortable beds are well-received, opinions vary, with some travelers finding the rooms small and noisy, and the lack of daily housekeeping a drawback.
The value proposition is a point of contention, with the cost of rooms and extras not always meeting guests' expectations. Despite the availability of amenities like bars and shops, the experience of noise disturbance and an atmosphere with a mix of charm and dated elements are noteworthy.

Great location right next to the canals and in front of the Opera, 20 minutes walk from the Central Station, You can do everything on foot as well as bars, restaurants, the red light district and the Chinatown, if you choose a canal view room you will have a view of the canal and the opera,
The downside of this hotel is the street noise just downstairs, there is no soundproofing both with the outside, the windows have no double glazing as with the other rooms, if the TV is on in the next room you can follow the program without problem,
Take a room on the highest floor if you can, you will have less street noise,
The bedding is of good quality, everything is very clean, both the room and the bathroom, it lacks in the room a small refrigerator to put a bottle of water in the cool,
Breakfast is well stocked (cheese, cold cuts, dairy, orange juice, )
the reception is friendly and there is an employee who speaks French,
for 2 nights hotel with breakfast it will cost you about 343 euros,

A wonderful 3 nights spent at this lovely hotel.
My husband and I wanted a hotel that was within easy walking distance of almost everything in Amsterdam, and that's what we got with Eden.
It's an easy 20 minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal station, and most of the attractions we wanted to see were super close too.
We were greeted by the friendly staff upon arrival. I was really excited to try the self check-in system, which is not only very easy but very efficient. You create your own room keys by entering your name, booking details etc. There's also a great system whereby you can only access the lifts from reception by scanning your key card, which adds more security to the hotel itself.
Our room itself was basic but clean and perfect as a base for exploring the city. The only suggestion I'd make is that the bathroom does need some kind of shelf above the sink to store toiletries and the like. The bedroom could also use a mirror above the dressing table.
The bar staff were extremely friendly and polite, always willing to chat to us. Breakfast is a lovely continental spread with lots to choose from.
There's a pool table that you can use for free which we used alot!
I really enjoyed my stay and should I return to Amsterdam, I'll be staying at the Eden for sure. Thank you for a great few nights!

I paid a bit extra to get a slightly larger room but the rooms were still smaller than anticipated. We did adjust to the small space and it worked for us as we didn't spend much time in the room. The 2 twin beds we requested were touching one another, but they were comfortable. Two people stayed in the room, I don't think a third person could have fit, although that was an option.
When we checked in the hotel room was clean but the bathtub was a bit dirty. It had a few peices of what appeared to be dirt. That was offputting.
The hotel suggests that you use the option to clean your room every third day, which we chose (guests have the option to receive cleaning daily). The challenge with this option is that we ran out of toilet paper daily and it takes several hours to get the supplies replenished once requested. Ask for extra toilet paper or get your room cleaned daily. The hotel doesn't offer washclothes to guests and none are available. That was surprising but manageable.
The hotel is in an excellent location and the staff are friendly and helpful. They have a self-serve Starbucks machine in the guest market, but you can't get anything specialized. The machine provides 8 or 9 coffee options. It worked well for ordering more basic coffees.

As spectators for the Marathon which chose Eden hotel for its central location. I’m usually an avid review reader, I should have read the reviews. However, on this occasion I didn’t. It is supposed to be 4*. It certainly isn’t. I’m used to staying 5*, but that wasn’t even close. 3* at the very most.
It had a very good waterfront location, closely positioned near tram stops, shop, restaurants an bars.
The reception area is very attractive and leads to a small self service supermarket and bar. The rear entrance to the hotel has a Wagamama opposite.
The staff were very nice and smartly dressed. Unfortunately, thats where the positivity ends.
We booked a standard room as typically the price was inflated for Marathon guests and there was also a dance festival in the city on the same weekend. We were definitely victims of profiteering, as the prices dropped after we left.
Our bed consisted of a bed base and a topper. Not a proper mattress. It was a vary small room, which we expected for a city centre, but it smelled stale of old cigarette smoke or socks. Just not fresh. The pillows were very uncomfortable. It wasn’t comfortable to sleep in.
The grouting around the shower enclosure was very grubby. The bath had dents in it that were very badly filled and the hairdryer didn’t work (I luckily checked before I washed my hair, thank goodness). The bathroom floor had marks on it where it hadn’t been washed properly.
The cleaning service is only available if you stay for 3 nights, otherwise you have to pay.
The toiletries were very basic and bolted to the wall.
The wallpaper in the corridor to our room was peeling
Amsterdam itself was wonderful and we will return, but certainly not to Eden.

I feel as though we may have booked during a very busy time but that still doesn’t mean that our booking shouldn’t have been upheld. Me and my boyfriend arrived at 7pm to be told our room was still being cleaned, we were then told that we had been upgraded in terms of our room which rang alarm bells because we had booked an executive double room. We had been given a twin room facing the canal. We then spoke to the receptionist who then showed us a room that was not within the hotel saying this is a spare room that they have free. At the time after a long day of travelling it almost felt like it was either we took the room or there was nothing else. It was really disappointing and my and my boyfriend spent the 2 nights we were there basically in the dark in our room as it was on the ground floor and were afraid that people could see in so kept the curtains closed. As well as cobwebs in various places in the room. We never went into the main part of the hotel for the amenities that we initially booked it for.It almost ruined our trip but we made the most of the difficult circumstances.

We had room 424 with canal view. The room and the view were great. Two small bottles of water were in the room and were replenished daily for free. The location of the hotel is great. All sights are within walking distance. e.g. to the Heineken brewery we walked from the hotel only 25 minutes!!!!!

The Eden Hotel was in an excellent location right on a canal with beautiful views and very nearby to the Rembrandt Square area and Tram stop, making it a great locale for both food and drink nearby, as well as easy transport to Central Station and other areas. I was pleasantly surprised when I was also able to check in early after an overnight flight when I had stopped by thinking I would just be able to store my luggage until later that day, making my arrival even better when I could shower and freshen up before exploring the area. I would highly recommend this hotel to others and look forward to my next stay. The room was spacious even for a "cozy" size and the bed was very comfortable.

Firstly I want to say the hotel was generally very good but needs a refurbishment in some areas, main reception, games and bar area are excellent. Pizza and food options should be clearly posted as it’s not very clear. Our room although spacious had an awful damp smell which was not corrected nor were we offered another room. Hotel had a bar with self service shop, quick self service pizza and toastie station (although prices were not displayed and there were never any toasties). There is a pool table which is free to use and was a good send on a rainy day! Location is small bang in Rembrandt square, can get the 4 or 14 tram from central station. Close to hermitage museum, ice var, flower market and general shopping areas and Leidersplein. Overall the hotel as very good but some of the rooms and corridors need a new look. Rooms have a tv but not many English’s speaking channels (I am in the NL every two weeks so don’t need to explore so much now, for some reason there are no fridges in the tools which means you can have your own food or drink cold. Shower gels and shampoo are provided, hairdryer did not work but staff brought us a spare. Bar staff and reception staff will go out of their way to help.

This hotel is ideal in terms of location; close to everything and the room overlooking the Amstel was an added value.
Big flaw was that we obviously had a room where there was smoking. We were offered another room, but since we had already unpacked everything, we did not accept it. In hindsight, a bad decision by us.
The beds are good and the room was spacious. The shower walls around the bath were rusty and could use a refurbishment.
Furthermore, there are small to large steps everywhere in the room and the hotel, so it is careful not to trip.

Hotel Eden in Amsterdam is well located near the always busy and pleasant Rembrandtplein. There are many dining options there, which is useful because the hotel itself does not have a restaurant.
There is a small reception because they try to let people check in and out themselves via PCs. This seems cold and impersonal. When I arrived it was very busy and it took quite some time before I was helped. The room was very small, but I was traveling alone so it was manageable, but for two people it would really be manageable. The beds were fine and the air conditioning worked well and was very quiet. Cleaning my room only happened between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM, which I found difficult because you had just returned by then and you wanted to rest and take a shower. The last day of the four days no one came to clean the room and provide new towels.
The information at the desk about the city was not very good.

We were in a standard twin room with the canal view. I’m not sure about a quad, I doubt those have a canal view.
There is a restaurant next to Starbucks
The room I stayed in did not. But the 24hour shop in the hotel means you can pop down and buy a cold drink. I hope this helps
We took a taxi to the cruise terminal. The hotel called it for us. It wasn’t too expensive.
The tram from Rembrandt square takes you to Amsterdam Central. Not far at all, tram tickets can be bought on the tram and are nor expensive.
