I could not sing the praises of this hotel enough, definitely not what I was expecting! The holiday was 3 nights in Amsterdam including breakfast for around £125 (including flights). Great value! There are 2 buses from the airport that will take you a 2 min walk from the hotel for a couple of euros, saving on taxi/transfer money. I...

The hotel has , close to the Van gough and Reijksmuseum. Our room was triple, it was clean and well decorated. The bathroom is spacious and not a cupboard like in city centre hotels. There is also a big supermarket (Albert Hejin) next to the Museumplein so perfect base. Staff were friendly and very very helpful. Price was very good...

Well after arriving at Schipol we found our way to the Plaza and to the bus stands. There are two numbers (370 and 197) which for three euro's will take you to within 100m of the hotel. So easy and straightforward, hence a great relaxed start to our trip. From the minute we entered the hotel we were greeted with...

I just returned from a week at the Conscious Hotel from March 7 till 13. I was very surprised by the size of the room when we arrived as I was expecting it to be like other rooms in Amsterdam. The bathroom was also a very nice size. The walk-in shower could have easily fit 3 people inside! We stayed...

We stayed for a week (6-13th March). We would agree with most of the reviews. The staff are excellent - friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The bed is comfortable and the bedroom and bathroom are of a good size for a city hotel. They were spotlessly clean. The radiators pumped out a lot of heat and it was needed - Amsterdam...

Just back from a 3-night stay at this hotel with my husband and our 18-month old son. Booked it after reading reviews on this site, and wasn't diasppointed. Transfer from the airport was really simple (3 euros pp on the bus almost direct to the door!) and the location was great (although we tended to walk everywhere rather than use...

I found this hotel on Tripadvisor and booked it based on all the positive reviews i had seen. I wasn't disappointed! This is a fantastic hotel in a great location, staffed by some very happy and helpful people! Located on De Lairessestraat just south of Museumplein, the hotel is a mere 10-15 minute walk from Lidesplein (a main restaurant /nightlife...

My partner and I travelled to Amsterdam and chose to stay in this hotel based on the reviews of other travellers. The hotel is clean and brightly decorated and on check in the staff were very friendly. There are only a few double beds available so we had two single beds pushed together with their own separate duvets. When we...

In 2 words: excellent bed. Honestly that was one of the best beds I slept in. Large room with flat TV on the wall, and good size safe. The bathroom was clean, and modest with nice shower. It’s good location, next to the tram stop, from where you can get to the city centre. If you have a car you...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
